A: It keeps costs down. You don't really need Gsync these days. Nvidia Gsync will work with freesync displays

A: This monitor will work great with the Mac mini. You just have to adjust the settings (on the Mac) for font size and task bar size and stuff like that. Otherwise everything seems super small and almost impossible to read.
