Good for Video Conferencing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These monitors are top notch. I am not a gamer. I just wanted to use them with Zoom for video conferencing. I get great looking video from our office in San Francisco to my home office in Cypress. I have a laptop with two of these external monitors. Every couple of days, one of the monitors seems to go offline, but a computer reboot easily fixes the problem.

Junk monitor - DO NOT BUY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this monitor today. Got it home and connected it to my pc with a 2080ti. No g sync, no overclocking of the monitor what so ever. I completely uninstalled drivers and reinstalled, uninstalled Nvidia control panel and reinstalled with no success. Notice in the photos the Gsync option is not available and anything higher than 60hz is not available because the monitor does not allow me to OC as it is supposed to. The monitor would not give me the option of overclocking. Many people boast about how good this monitor is and I say "nah, no way". I called Asus support to be told that they would call be back in 24-48 hours - I don't think so. You pay $2000 for a monitor, you expect it to work and dang sure expect to be helped in a few minutes, not 24-48 hours later (and that was expedited help and support they claimed). Saved up for a while for this monitor, still looking for a good monitor but I did learn that this is not one of them.

Posted .Dear Rabman,
I'm sorry to hear about your setup experience with this monitor. This is absolutely not the type of experience we want any of our customers to have. Please verify that you are connected to the monitor with a DisplayPort cable. If so and there is no change, please test with an alternate cable. Once the monitor detects that it has a higher than 60Hz refresh rate input, it will unlock the overclocking options on the OSD. If you have any general or technical questions, please email me at cl-lane@asus.com and include case #N200335704 for reference.
Thank you for choosing ASUS!
Best regards,
Lane

Awesome Monitor but a few quirks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: - Color accurate out of the box - HDR (blinding at times) - Little to no Backlight bleed due to FALD - Gsync Con - Expensive - Windows Scaling sucks due to its size (32 inch would have been the better option if it was available) - Will need a beefy PC to run - Fan noise from the monitor can be annoying If you have the money, it's the best monitor for gaming out there. Too bad Asus rollout for the Ultrawide is longer than expected as that would be the best monitor to run with the advantage of HDR. I hope nvidia gets a more affordable chipset without needing a fan to cool the monitor in the future.

Unnecessarily awesome
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this monitor is pretty much the best you can get when it comes to a 27” gaming monitor. 4K, G-Sync, high refresh rate, decently fast IPS panel.... but none of this is necessary. You won’t notice a difference between a 1440 display and this. The HDR and G-Sync is noticeable, but the 4K just isn’t a large enough difference to depict. Interestingly enough you will not get 4K HDR @144hz either. At least not through a display port. With HDR enabled you cap out at 120hz which is more than enough. If you have the money burning a hole in your pocket, don’t miss out! But I wouldn’t prioritize this monitor in any sort of budget. Also anyone trying to figure out how to remove the hideous stand in order to mount it properly, there are no instructions regarding bezel removal. Stick a screwdriver in there and pry it up.

Beautiful colors, great performance
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: In terms of color, picture quality, and performance - this is, of course, the top of the line and it is unbeatable. Only the Predator X27 can compete against this. They are both great monitors. Cons: The stand looks cool but it is functionally awful, especially if you have a standard desk. You will need a very deep desk to have it at a comfortable enough distance away from you. If you have a smaller desk, it will run over your keyboard and also your mousepad. I bought a monitor stand and mounted this on there to fix the issue. I see many people saying that the price is an issue, but is anyone that is really buying this worried about the price? At this price point, unless you're well off and very comfortable purchasing multiple of these, you shouldn't be buying monitors at this level. There's plenty of great monitors that you can buy that are not this monitor - if you're struggling with money or if this is very expensive to you, look somewhere else. As far as fan noise, I can't hear it at all. If you like to wear headphones when gaming, it won't matter anyways.

Pricey
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this monitor when I was able to get it price matched for a deep discount. I would not recommend paying the full price on this as the value is just not there. I do like that this is a G-Sync monitor, with an IPS screen, and a high refresh, all at 4k. That cannot be beat. I have a 2k (QHD) monitor by ASUS right next to this one, and I actually think that monitors colors and display look higher quality than this one (except for the resolution of course). The fan noise on this thing is also crazy. When it really ramps up, it is louder than my PC fans.

Was hesitant even with a discounted price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My challenge was looking for a monitor a with excellent gaming performance for pc and console gaming. I also needed a set that was color accurate for photo and video editing (Sony alpha shooter here, IG account @jfranco328). During my research, this monitor offered excellence performance in both areas. I have had it for a few weeks now and have not had a single issue. No noisey fan, no dead pixels. It's just picture perfect. HDR looks great by the way. Definitely happy with this purchase.

The price is high but it's a great monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you were like me, you probably had a heart attack trying to find a G-SYNC compatible 4K HDR monitor for your computer. You could find a 4K but not HDR, or no G-SYNC. I have always bought NVIDIA cards becuase of a then ATI issue way back when...actually i bought 3dfx cards but I digress. This monitor is gorgeous and screams quality all over it. I don't use it for just gaming - I also do work on it, and everything pops in 4K at 150% text size. Little touches like the ROG light on the stand is very cool. This monitor is absolutely not for everyone. At a minimum I'd say get a 1080TI card to run it (using a lower card probably isn't going to get you frame rates you want). I have not tried the 2xxx series GeoForce cards yet. I figured I'll enjoy 4K on this brand new monitor with an old card rather than with a new card and a non-HDR 4K GSync monitor. I hope the price comes down to the masses, otherwise do what I do and save up those rewards zone certificates!

Q: QuestionWill this give me maximum results with my PS4 pro?
Asked by DTrump.
- A:Answer This monitor is ideal for PC use. It would work well for your PS4 Pro, however you could buy an OLED TV for the same cost and get the same results. The point of this screen is for higher frame rate gaming. The PS4 Pro is locked at 30-60 FPS. This monitor cost so much as it is a 120HZ screen, HDR 1000, has local dimming, and G-Sync. I can not recommend this for a console as it would be an EPIC WASTE OF MONEY! For PC gaming with a i9 9700K or 9900K with a RTX 2080 TI, you have a combo made in heaven.

Q: QuestionI’ve heard confusing info regarding how text looks on this monitor. Do you have to use Windows 10 text scaling to read the internet? Do you need to constantly make configuration changes every time you game and do business work in 4K resolution?
Asked by BlueCat.
- A:Answer Text via this monitor looks amazing...This monitor does for your PC what Apple's "Retina Display" did for iPhone/iPad several years ago. So sharp and smooth! Windows 10 does a great job of detecting the monitor and setting all your display settings automatically for you so that things look right and are easy to read. Resolution is at 3840 x 2160 with text size scaled to 150% (see attached pic) -- Windows recommends these settings by default one you connect. I do my work on this PC/monitor as well as gaming -- no changing of any settings at any time. Everything works great!

Q: QuestionJust purchased the monitor for a crazy discount and had an additional question. I currently have the Ryzen 2700 and RX 580 as my setup. I'm planning to get the RTX 2070 super soon. So, with the 2070 super, how good would the monitor look and perform?
Asked by STM24.
- A:Answer Hello I just got this monitor and I have a i7 9700k and RTX 2080. Rtx 2070 super should be pretty close to my reg 2080. For most games like Gears 5, Doom Eternal, I put settings down from ultra to high to stay above 60 fps preferably over 75. So usually get about 70 to 90 fps. I'd recommend a 2080 super or 2080ti really with this monitor. But 2070 super games will still look amazing just lower fps.

Q: QuestionIs this a good monitor for both gaming as well as everyday use? I'm trying to find a good dual purpose monitor solution. Also would a Nvidia 2080ti GPU be able to drive this monitor at it's full potential?
Asked by tomncincy.
- A:Answer Yes, it is a great monitor for both. I first was using 2 Nividia GeForce GTX 1080Ti in my system until the RTX 2080Ti came out. Combine the monitor & 2080Ti with the monitors built in Nvidia G-Sync, Nothing compares or even comes close to the detailed picture quality, you can't get any better.
