Q: How do I make sure I get one of these as soon as they are in stock?
A: I spoke with customer service to ask for a release estimate or for an arrival email and they told me they had no dates because there were no dates from the manufacturer,.... and to "just keep checking!"
A: This version has an RTX3080 and 32GB RAM, the other one has an RTX3070 and 16GB RAM. The RAM makes a big difference, since half of it comes soldered, meaning they can charge more for the upgrade to 32GB. The white finish is also more expensive.
Q: Does this have the option to add a 2nd SSD? Is there a slot available for an another one?
A: Yes. From what I have read and seen on Youtube reviews, there is a second, empty slot for an NVME SSD.
A: Every review of the white 3080 I've seen stated the backlight was white only. That said Asus has produced so many almost identical models of this laptop that until the best buy version is in someone's hands we won't know for sure.
Q: Does this have an HDMI 2.1 output?
A: HDMI 2.0 but for high frequency output the USB-C port is intended to be used, with either a USB-C to DisplayPort or HDMI 2.1 adapter/cable.
Q: What is the refresh rate of the display ?
A: 165hz across the whole G15 2021 line.
A: Seems pretty alright to me. It has a 100% DCI P3 coverage and uses a Innolux N156KME-GNA (CMN152A) Panel if you want to look into it further.
