High refresh rate is a must in gaming these days and 144hz satisfied my needs. Came in a good price. Wish there was an easier way to switch the extreme low motion blur on e.g. via software without having to go through the onscreen display though. All in all I am pleased with this monitor.

I got this to replace a monitor with a VA panel, looking for one that had the best possible picture. This monitor looks great, the adjustability is fantastic. It just checks every box. I use it to play games (Rust, CoD, DayZ) and for school. It is great all the way around.

- A:Answer From what I understand, IPS (along with VA and TN) is a type of "panel technology" that falls under the LCD spectrum. The LED portion of the monitor is the "backlight technology". So, you can have an LCD monitor which comes with IPS panel technology and LED backlight.
