Customers are pleased with the ease of use and the clear reception quality of the phones. They find the phone menus and setup intuitive and the call quality excellent throughout their homes. However, a limitation noted by several customers is that only one handset can be used for a call at a time. This, along with reported issues with handset audio quality in some environments, is a point of concern for some users.

Should have researched better

I picked this phone set up based on price alone. I really should have done more research and I wish that you could test phones out before you buy them. I would have found out that it is very easy to block the ear speaker and lose sound when you are talking. I also would have found out that only one handset can be on the line at a time. The answering machine was easy to use and the handsets all kept a charge for an extended period between charges. I did have a static issue after three months. AT&T did warranty that phone system due to a "software" issue in the phones and sent a brand new system, however I was out of the return policy period otherwise I would have just returned the entire system.

Handsets all over the house

This, generally, is a good, reliable phone. We were always looking for a handset before, but now we have them all over the house. Two handsets cannot talk at the same time. You have to "transfer" the call from one to another in order to use another handset. If you want multiple participants on the call at the same time, this is not the phone for you.
Pickup distance is OK and phones themselves are easy to use. Good, basic system at 5.8GHz.

Great Phone

This phone has everything but the ability to use it for a conference call or intercom. It has a great feature that allows you to transfer a call to another phone and that phone will ring just as a business system would. So it was perfect when one is in a totally different part of the house and needs the other party to answer the phone. In our situation we needed to be able to have two people on the line at one time for a "conference" call when being in different parts of our home. The speaker phone was not suitable for this in our situation. I also did like the ease in which you can retrive messages using another phone when you are away from home. I also liked the fact that you could see the number of messages because of the configuration of the main phone holder;you didn't have to physically walk over and look down to see if you had a message. We also felt the reception was very clear.

The Family Purchase

This is a great purchase! It is nice for the whole family! Each member gets a phone and you don't need to run phone lines to every room! You just need a power outlet in the rooms and one phone line for the main base! I bought it for my mom for christmas and I still get to use it as well! The phones get great reception throughout the whole house! The ringer is loud if you are a distance away and each phone comes with a holster clip to carry the phone at your side! The menus on the phones and the base are very simple and basic to get around in unlike some other technology where you get lost and can't figure out what to do! Great choice for anyone and everyone! I love it!

Highly recommend product. Easy to mount on wall if you choose. The initial setup of each phone very simple. Each phone can have a different ring tones, color lighting, and face place can display different backgrounds. Great reception; clear and crisp. You can walk around the exterior of your home and not loose your signal. The phone stays charged for an extra long period of time even if you forget to place it back on its charger stand. The answering machine is easy to work and rewind if you don't get the message the first time... Great investment.

Absolutely unacceptable

This is the most ridiculous phone ever. I bought it to replace our older AT&T cordless set because we were limited to two handsets on that one. This one has four, which is very convenient for our house.
Only after it was all set up did we discover that only one handset can be used at one time. It never occurred to me that a supposedly more advanced version of my old phone would actually be more limited. The box doesn't reveal this limitation, and only once you get into the user manual do you see it admitted to -- in the fine print. Wish I'd read these reviews before I'd bought.
I'm gathering up all of the labyrinthine packing materials, sticking them in a bag, and heading back to Best Buy about the minute after I post this review.

This is a great low-cost phone system for any home. With a base unit and three handsets, you can cover most any area upstairs or downstairs and still have a unit for that garage or workshop. The only drawback is the answering machine's outgoing and incoming voice quality. I found them to be less than clear, although they are satisfactory. It does have remote access and toll saver which is very useful. It's 5.8GHz frequency gives it a great range and provides for multi-frequency switching in case of interference. All in all, a great bang for the buck.

Not worth it

I bought this set a while back and loved it at first. Mulitple handsets, speakerphone... Thought it would be quite useful. However, you can only use one phone at a time (no conference calls), one of the handsets doesn't allow you to hear properly unless you're in a noise free room, and the speakerphone is choppy and too quiet!! Also, the phones hand up if your cheek hits the button!! I found that to be the most annoying. Definitely not worth it!!!
