Even BETTER Deal - MORE (Extension) Phones 4 Less!

I have been using this system for six months - it's everything it claims - clear calls, digital answering machine, extends up to 12 handsets _AND_ extends your cell-phone usage all over your home without having your cell phone tied to you.
When I get home from work, I merely set my cell-phone next to the base station - and wallah - I can make/receive calls from/to my cell phone using (all) the extension handsets. Thus giving me essentially cell-service throughout my house.
(This is NEW) What's even better(!) if you're wanting MORE/EXTRA extensions/handsets, I found the same unit (base station and extra handset) at a local retailer on "clearance" for LESS than the price of ONE "extra" handset. (CAVEAT: As mentioned in an earlier review, you MUST have the initial base station to UNregister the new handsets from their base station first. before you can register it with your existing setup.)
Because my original base station is/was still working - I was able to UNregister the (new) TWO handsets that came with the clearance item/box, and RE-register both to my original. I now have FOUR phones working from the ONE base-station.
Bluetooth caveat: As far as I'm concerned, Motorola programs their cell phones with the latest/greatest compatible version of the Bluetooth protocol. The reason I am mentioning this is I had a couple of Motorola cell phones that ALWAYS registers/reconnects with all of my "hands-free" devices. (I have "hands-free" in both my cars, (and this AT&T unit) and have never had to re-pair a Motorola with any/either of my "hands-free" devices - they always (RE)connect automatically.) With my ixxx-phone sometimes I have to manually (re)connect/pair. That's the cells phone's problem - not this AT&T unit.
Other than that - I've not had a single problem with this unit, and now that I have the (new) extra handsets - you can NOT beat the price for such a good quality product.
...buy it! You'll be glad you did your homework. (And read this review.)

Really Nice Phone

I had trouble choosing between this phone and another AT&T phone. This one won out mainly because of the bluetooth feature and the sleekness of the phone. So far it has worked perfectly with my cell phone as well as regular house calls. The only feature it lacks that my previous GE phone had is the capability to access the answering machine from the handset. That was one feature I found to be very convenient because my base phone was in my loft and instead of walking upstairs to listen to the messages, I was able to press a button on my downstairs handset that enabled me to listen to them. Other than that, it's a great phone.

This phone is pretty good for the money, the best feature is the range of this phone. I can walk two houses away and still hear crisp clear voices, and they can hear me.
What is not so great is you can only put 20 names in the address book, and the battery life needs room for improvement. After 30 minutes on the phone it is down half way and needs to be recharged. Maybe it is just my handsets, so yours may be better.

We previously had to use 2 separate base stations with separate sets of handsets with our large, multifloor home. I was skeptical about the advertised range and quality. To my surprise, this system performed as advertised - without exception. The Bluetooth capability (for linking cell phones) was a bonus.
There are only 2 drawbacks, only one is critical. When roaming while on speakerphone, the handset is not designed to sit upright on its own.
The other drawback is now that I have a Bluetooth interface, I wish it could link more than one cellphone to the base.
Overall, best phone system I have ever owned, and I have owned quite a few..

I have had this phone for about 2 months now and am very happy with it. The Bluetooth feature enables me to leave my cell phone on the charger and lets me answer the cell from any of my 4 extensions (it comes with 2, I purchased 2 additional ). I also like the feature that enters stored numbers into all extensions at the same time you store it on one headset. When you delete a call on caller I.D. it deletes it on all the headsets. All in all a handy phone.

Primarily got this for use as home and cell phone receiver. It works great, bought 3 new extensions - now have 5 - easy to add additional devices. Would be nice if the phone answered when picking up off the base, but given that it handles both the land and cell lines, it is understandable that the user should have to decide which line to pick-up. Good signal strength.

Cannot be deregistered if base dies

Last Friday I bought the At&T cordless home phone that connects to bluetooth enabled cell phones. I purchased the extra handsets and spent over $500. On Tuesday the base died so I bought two new base stations (one as a back up --- for an extra $100 including the warranty that I never buy but in this case....). After getting home I discovered I could not deregister the extra handsets from the dead base. I called At&T. The explained the ONLY way to deregister the handsets was to to have the old base do it. I explained that the base died after three days. They were not helpful at all. I had two options. One was to return all of the phones to the store and start over or mail them to AT&T ... and after they received them ... at my expense, they would mail me reprogrammed phones after 14 days. This meant I had to wait over a month to have phones. I will NEVER buy another AT&T product. The phones were great for three days and the blue tooth was awesome but if your base dies, you are totally out of luck!!!!!!!!!
Best Buy was very understanding and helpful."

Great phone. One of the best on the market. Price is high. probably due to demand for blutooth readiness.
