The perfect gift for my teenage son. He has had Beats but prefer Audio-Technica. He uses these headphones all the time. I would recommend these Audio-Technica headphones to friends.

Can't really complain that the headphones don't breath because the acoustic seal makes the headphones extremely quiet for everyone around you, yet blast you with a full range of sound. The bass is exceptional for on ear headphones (I use them primarily for dubstep so that is key). The sound is arguably better than beats solo/mixer for a third the price! Audio technica has a much better overall reputation and build quality than beats. You can get similar fidelity, build quality, and range of sound from Bose, but not this much bass even from their over ears and at this price! It is nice to have phone controls on the beats/bose, but not a deal breaker for me especially when used on a computer anyway.
A:AnswerThe Dre Studio headphones are in this alley with those Sony MDR 450s. But the low end on the beats are pushed harder.I think these actually go louder than the 450s. The beats offer a pretty good isolation from the outside. I like the sound of the Sony's.
