Listen to your old records and new vinyl with this Audio-Technica magnetic cartridge. It has a standard half-inch mount for replacement use on many turntable models, and a conical stylus plays your records in traditional fashion for classic vinyl sound. The recommended load impedance of 47k ohms matches this Audio-Technica magnetic cartridge to your amplifier's standard phono inputs.

  • Conical stylus: The conical design works best in moderate to lower priced, and older, record players with higher tone arm tracking forces.
  • 20Hz - 20kHz frequency response: For faithful sound reproduction.
  • Half-inch mount: The cartridge is secured to the tone arm's headshell with two screws, spaced 1/2" apart.

Q: Will this cartridge work to replace a AT3482P Audio Technica cartridge?

A: Thank you for your inquiry. The AT3482P is a "P mount" cartridge and the CN5625AL is a "half mount" cartridge so it is not a replacement.

Q: I am looking fo a replacement cartridge for my old stereo. The cartridge is audio technical AT450. What would be a comparable replacement?

A: If you are interested in replacing the stylus only, the original stylus was the ATN3472NE. This was a nude mount type stylus, meaning the tip and shank were made from a single piece of diamond. The ATN3472SE was the next step down with the only difference being a bonded type stylus, meaning the tip is bonded to a shank of a different material (usually steel). Nude styli are regarded as being better than bonded styli. When a tip is bonded to the shank, the bonding agent presents another medium which the vibrations form the tip have to pass through, and it adds more mass to the tip. A bonded tip has to be aligned to the shank before mounting where a nude tip does not. There is room for error in alignment when bonding. The AT450 was a Universal type cartridge. That is, it was a p-mount (plug-in) type cartridge with an adapter provided for mounting it to a standard half-inch headshell. If you are using the cartridge as a p-mount type, the AT92ECD Cartridge is the closest thing we have today to your AT450. If you are using it as a half-inch headshell type, the AT92ECD does come with the half-inch mount adapter. Other half-inch only type cartridges, such as the VM530EN Cartridge, would be comparable.

Q: I have a Marantz 6300 turntable will this cartridge work or what are your recommendations.

A: Yes, it will. We can also recommend the AT95EX (Better) and the VM520EB (Best) Cartridges.

Q: Will this work for a Technic sl 3300?

A: Yes, this will fit that player.

Q: i need a cartridge for marantz 6200 turntable what do you suggest

A: We have not been able to determine the mass of your turntables tonearm so it is impossible to make a definitive recommendation in terms of a cartridge with the appropriate compliance figure. Given that it is an automatic type turntable however, it is safe to assume the arm mass is in the medium range. The CN5625AL Cartridge that you are looking at is a low compliance cartridge (dynamic compliance of 9 @ 10 Hz) and is better suited to high mass arm. A more suitable model is the AT95E (dynamic compliance of 11 @ 10 Hz). It will track better, particularly on a warped record, and the resonant frequency of the combination will be lower (hopefully out of the audible range).
