A: I have not seen a bird watching scope , but I can say that I have tried 3 different old camcorders different makes and sizes plus a cannon sx530 hs and an old nikon coolpix s570 and they all fit no problem. I would say try it , this tri pod seems to fit everything that I have tried so far and it locks very secure and is veryy easy to use . I just puchased a second one through staples because I had a $30.00 dollar credit and I am going to buy a third from Best Buy. This has got to be the best tri pod I have ever used.
Q: can the base of the quick release plates be removed to put onto other mounting devices?
A: Yes, the mounting platform can be released from the tripod. It should fit with other mounting devices that are compatible.
Q: Is it a truly fluid head? This or Sunpak 8001UT
A: This is a 2-way fluid head.
A: This telescope is only compatible with the tabletop tripod. It fits loosely on full size tripods. For a full size tripod, I would select one of our other telescope models that come with full size tripods.
Q: I have a Barska starwatcher 40070 telescope will it mount on this tripod?
