There were "Up's and Downs" but mostly there were Up's, like the great story line and like i stated before there hasn't been as many good suspense video games like this so it stands out on the top and i think that the basic Ending and suspenseful death of Andrew Ryan.
The only real down part is no online or interactions with other players like co-op.

Bioshock! That it is!

Oh to live in Rapture, the foremost city in freedoms of art, capitalism, and the pursuit of Science. But what if those liberties were to go unchecked?
Bioshock answers that question in a truly fun and harrowing way. With standing any spoilers, Bioshock has many of the best plot twists and “OH!” moments that some games just don’t quite deliver. The game starts like a flash of fire and burns steadily throughout the stories whole unveiling. All be it, at times a slow burn, in where silence and being low key is a dance of life or death, while other parts are a flaming frantic fight for survival in the twisted streets of Rapture.
The game play itself, is in first person shooter mode with no alternate view option, which in truth fits the mood of the world quite well. Along the way there are a few “choice type” elements that allow you to change the outcome of Bioshocks ending.
You have the choice of delivering judgment to your enemies by cold hard steel in the power of the gun and several various incarnation of destroying firearms or the unique pleasure of doing in your enemies with the power of your bare hands through plasmids. Plasmids are in fact one of the driving forces of the game. Plasmids are a type of stem cell research gone wrong, or right if you envy the ability to fry, freeze, shock, hypnotize, and downright annoy your new neighbors, gone right. To make matters worse for these wretched souls you have the ability to upgrade all weapons and plasmids into an extremely lethal arsenal to dispatch any would be antagonizer. Easly put cool weapons!
The games vehicle for delivering the player on the past and current happenings in the once Shining beacon, of Rapture, is told though a few surviving and important characters that are almost always talking to you via speaker or radio. Although there are, what would be, “Audio Diaries”, and other means of discovering what really happened here in the once illustrious under water utopia. Any living person you do happen to encounter most often wants to take a swing, or worse, at you.
The graphics and sound are very good and memorable to say the least. Incredibly tense mood lighting and architectural wonders loom around giving the player an idea of the masterful city and the chaos that follows ones down fall. Character models range well enough so that it doesn’t feel like your gunning and running from the same few people. Bioshocks audio really shines with terrific back ground music and ambient noises. Many times you will keep looking behind your back in expectance of a deranged attacker or maniac in the shadows.
Overall Bioshock has enough variety and game play that most devoted players, that have a personal stake in their character, will have a hard time putting down the controller.
Many Shocking and surprising moments await players curious enough to brave into the city and at $19.99 you should in no way not consider getting or gifting this soon to be classic Game.

This game obviously is amazing and took home multiple Game of The Year Awards in 2007 for the 360. For those of us that had a PS3 then, we couldn't play this game. Well the wait is finally over. If you are on the fence about this game, I suggest you download the demo on the PS Store. I GARAUNTEE you will purchase once you try it. For those who already played it on 360, there is a harder difficulty level added to PS3 version, downloadable challenge rooms and TROPHIES!!!

i wish the ps3 would of got this the same day that it released for the 360 hopefully in bioshock 2 they will be released on the same day the game is easy but its a great story the only thing that i did not like in the game were those flying bots that would shoot you all the time they got annoying especially if the camera spotted you they would all be after you trying to kill you this is a must buy there is no online play but the story mode is really fun and it will take you away

Life in Rapture is Shocking

If you like FPS that greatly challenge your reflexes while scurrying through an unknown city underwater with upgradeable futuristic (with respect to the 1960's) weapons while fighting its inhabitants that have been "mutated" to your disadvantage...
...and if you like taking the Little Sisters from their Big Daddies...
This is the game for you!
P.S. Make sure that your character is yielding a weapon BEFORE you turn around or you will be SHOCKED! ; ]
As of now, due to school, I have not finished the game. I think I am about halfway, but I have enjoyed every single minute of it from the time I started playing...AFTER the 8-10-minute initial download time.

I actually played Bioshock 2 first and loved it so much I decided to give the 1st one a try. I did have some reservations about playing an older game in the series because I thought I might be let down by gameplay/visuals/sounds/etc. that they might have fixed in the 2nd game. My fears were squashed. This game can stand on its own and is almost as good as Bioshock 2. I cannot wait for Bioshock Infinite to be released!

EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS

I was happy to hear that Bioshock had finally came to the PS3, but at the same time I wasn't going to drop $60 bucks. So I decided I would wait for a serious price drop. Now at $20 it was irresistable. This game is great the visuals, gamplay, graphics, storyline..etc. I really enjoy playing this game and I'm glad I waited.
