The Blue Pure 121 air purifier delivers high performance with one-button control and customizable pre-filter colors in a lightweight, compact package. Independently evaluated and third-party tested for performance as part of the AHAM Verifide® Program for room air cleaners, this air purifier has a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 400 cfm for fine smoke particles, 400 cfm for pollen particles, and 400 cfm for dust particles. Recommended for extra-large areas such as open-concept floor plans, studios & basements with a 360° air intake to completely filter room air about every 12.5 minutes¹ (approx. 4.8x an hour at 620 ft²) on the highest speed.² The 3-step combination particle + carbon filter works with Blueair's HEPASilent™ filtration technology to remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, like pollen, dust, pet dander, mold, bacteria, viruses³ and more. An additional layer of activated carbon traps light household odors.⁴ Blue Pure 121 quietly cleans the air with about as much noise as a whisper⁵ on low (31 dB) and up to a normal conversation on high (56 dB) – while using about as much energy as a light bulb (31-61 W).⁶ Change color in seconds with five fabric pre-filter options. Includes two machine-washable fabric pre-filters in Diva Blue and Dark Shadow, additional colors Buff Yellow, Crystal Pink, Lunar Rock sold separately. The fabric material of the pre-filter catches larger particles and extends the life of the primary filter. Vacuum the fabric or toss it in the washing machine whenever it needs cleaning. At Blueair, our Swedish heritage inspires sustainability and quality at the heart of everything we do. Q: If the Blue Air 121 becomes discontinued, will the filters still be available long term?
A: Thank you for your interest in Blueair. We have no plan at this time to discontinue the Blue121 unit, however we do continue to produce filters after a unit has been discontinued or updated.
Q: How often do you have to replace the filter?
A: Hi there! You'll want to replace the filter after six months of use. The machine has an internal timer that is keeping track of how long the unit has been on. Once it's been on for a total of six months. The button on the unit will change color letting you know that it's time to change the filter.
Q: Does this purifier have work with ozone?
A: With Blueair products, you can breathe easy, with no increased danger from ozone. That’s because for 20 years, Blueair has been putting our air purifiers through independent tests to ensure that they do not release ozone. In fact, tests have shown that our products can actually lower ozone concentrations, with the ozone concentration in our system’s output air lower than in the incoming air. The tests are carried out in accordance with the California Air Resource Board (CARB) certification program, the most stringent requirements in the world for air purifiers. Working with Intertek, a CARB accredited test lab, Blueair products undergo a comprehensive series of tests to measure ozone emissions. In these 8-hour-long tests, air purifiers are tested on high and low speed – with and without the filter installed. The Intertek facility features environmental chamber technology, the most trusted and proven scientific method available for testing to see if products produce ozone. None of the Blueair products tested and investigated produced detectable ozone levels. Not only were Blueair purifiers found to comply with the requirements of the UL Standard 867 Section 37.1.2 criteria for emitting a maximum ozone concentration of less than 0.050 ppm, but also no measurable ozone concentration was detected at all.
