Q: How long is the normal wash cycle on the Bosch 800 series?

A: Hours, it will be around 2 1/2 hours. Although this machine is very quiet and does a great job washing dishes the programming is very, very difficult. There are ways to change cycles but the ease of figuring it out is not one of the features of this machine. The instruction manual wastes a lot of paper explaining the cycles, what they do, how long, etc., which most people know without reading the manual. It has little and poor instructions on which buttons to push and in what order to change the cycle to use all the features.

Q: What's the difference between the My Way rack in this model and the flexible third rack in the SHXM78W56N model in the same series? Are there other differences that make it worth the higher price?

A: The flexible rack looks like the typical 3rd rack but both sides (not the entire rack) will lower about 1/2 - 1" giving a bit more space to add shallow bowls. The My Way Rack is IMHO a much better option in that it allows for deeper bowls and flatware and larger utensils.

Q: Is this model on the lower end of the Bosch line?

A: This is the premium dishwasher from Bosch. Only feature it doesn't have is we connectivity.

Q: I THIS BOSCH DISHWASHER MADE IN GERMANY?

A: To get a Bosch dishwasher that is manufactured in Germany you have to purchase from the Bosch Benchmark line. It is a premium line with a corresponding price.

Q: What is condensation drying & how important is it in the grand scheme of thing.

A: What is Condensation Drying? All Bosch dishwashers use a condensation drying process. Instead of utilizing a heating element at the bottom of a dishwasher, condensation drying involves a number of dishwashing elements that work together to efficiently dry your dishes. Condensation drying is more hygenic and energy efficient than drying with a heating element. Additionally, since Bosch dishwashers do not use a heating element, your plastics are safe in the lower rack. Here's how it works: The final rinse uses high-temperature water to make the dishes very hot. The stainless steel tub of the dishwasher cools faster than your dishes because stainless steel cools faster than glass and porcelain. Condensation occurs when the moist air in the dishwasher comes into contact with the cooler stainless steel tub, and turns into water droplets. These water droplets trickle down to the bottom of the dishwashers and are drained. For extra drying assistance, select the SANITIZE or EXTRA DRY options. Select models have an Extra Dry option, which adds extra heat to the final rinse to enhance drying results. The Sanitize option on select models increases the time and temperature of the final rinse to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria, and enhances drying results.

Q: Does the 800's come with the red indicator light that shines on the floor to let you know it is running. My previous Bosch had it and I like that feature?

A: Hi D. Thank you for your question. Yes, the Bosch 800 Dishwasher, model SHPM98W75N has the InfoLight that shines on the floor to indicate that the dishwasher is running.
