Five college friends head up to a remote cabin in the woods for a weekend of sun-drenched fun, making out and booze, however they are disrupted by an unwelcome guest with a rotting skin virus, they decide to get rid of him unwittingly end up contaminating the water supply, the five friends slowly become contaminated and the violence escalates as they will do anything to survive.
The remake really isn't that bad, I really enjoyed it a lot, its certainly not a mega low budget effort, its a great looking movie with nice locations and plenty of gore, the movie is based on the original script and the director Eli Roth, being a big fan made the movie pretty much almost the same but with lots of changes here and there and added new things to the mix, and of course slightly modernized it somewhat with the dialogue and jokes, The cast is pretty good, your average young cast of college kids that are ready for the slaughter, some cheesiness to the acting but you do expect it really, the best added cast change was Louise Linton as Deputy Winston, making that character a female was a great change and i think it worked really well, the blood is plentiful and maybe even a tad better than before, some scenes are particularly gory and look great especially towards the end, the effects look pretty much practical most part and all look good even down to the rabid bloody dog! I think in some ways the re-make is better, its certainly more suspenseful at all times with its over the top soundtrack score, its a tad more serious and less comical than the original, the original is still a stand out great movie but I think this re-make is really worth a chance especially of course if you love Roth's original. I think the haters either haven't really seen it or they just don't like the original.

I personally enjoyed this newer updated version of Cabin Fever. I mean don’t get me wrong, the original was good and definitely was a bit creepy to me. But this one, is equally as good (to me) as the original. I say if you enjoyed the first one, then you should totally check this one out!! It has lots of gore and blood (like the original movie as well). It does have some new twists to it that the original didn’t have. I say, check it out and see what you think!!

Blood & Gore - awesome
If you're looking for blood, and gore and disgustingly horrid and decaying body parts- this is the movie! I liked this remake or reboot a lot better than the original. It had a good story line and great special effects. I love it when a film maker can create such a story and have you wondering what you would do in that situation. This is definitely "DVD worthy ".
Despite What Alot Of People Have Been Saying, This Movie Does Not Go Word For Word With The Original. It Does Follow Very Close To The First Movie, And In Some Parts It's As Good Or Better Then The Original. My New Favorite In The Movie Was The Reboot Of Deputy Winston.
For being a remake of a good horror movie, Eli Roth did a pretty good job. Just like any other Eli Roth movie it's over the top with the blood. He did use most of the same scenarios as the original and of course left it open at the end for a sequel.
