Q: What is the battery life in cols weather?
A: It uses a 6700 mAh lithium-ion battery and the unit is rated to work in the 14° – 113° F temperature range. One review mentions the battery can power it up to 2 months. So, in cold weather YMMV (your mileage may vary).
Q: Is location set up dependent on wifi? Or is it its own hotspot?
A: It is dependent on WiFi. It doesn't have its own internet connection built in, otherwise that would probably be more expensive to have to pay for that connection. The WiFi connection on this with my router has been very stable and reached pretty far.
Q: Can I get the app on my Android so I can see it when I'm not at home? Vewe it when I want to.?
A: Yes, go to the play store and download the app.
A: Hard to say how long the battery will last, but ours drops about 15% in about 12 hours outside in the cold. I believe it will last longer in the summer, so right now I have it plugged into the Christmas light timer outside. It recharges every day now.
