I think most of us agree that ink from the manufacturer is expensive, especially in relation to the price of the printers they are made for and more so in comparison to the generics found online. The reason I continue to purchase genuine ink is because i've always had perfect prints with no problems. I've tried various generics on other printers and have saved money and had periods of decent printing particularly with text but I have encountered problems a number of times including leaks and poor quality. I'm not a high volume user but have never had an issue with genuine ink and in the end I chose quality. BestBuy has the best price on this set but I took one star off because the set doesn't come with 'gray' that is also needed for this printer requiring an additional purchase. The larger black cartridge PGBK which is also needed for my Canon MG7720 must also be purchased separately or in an SE edition pack for $22.00 more. I think all cartridges should be offered together so the user doesn't have to hunt for the other cartridges as in my case where gray wasn't available in store at the time of purchase. Either way the quality is perfect as usual and hopefully manufacturers will realize how much business they are losing by pricing their products so far above what could be found elsewhere and bring them down a little more so as not to make price the ultimate deciding factor for most people.

I could not find the cartridges I needed for my printer that I bought from Best Buy one year ago so I asked the sales man. After looking up some information he told me these were the ones. I asked him why my printer #did not appear on the box. He said it was because the printer was upgraded since last year. Being stupid I trusted he knew what I needed. one month later when I went to change the ink I learned they were not the right ones. Very disappointed as it cost me $100 for the two boxes. Waste of money. Ended up ordering them on line somewhere else.

I've used this printer for about 9 months now, not daily, but a few times per month. I haven't had to replace any ink yet. The magenta cartridge has been warning that it's low for a couple weeks now, but I haven't changed it yet. I keep printing and it keeps putting out great quality! I won't be changing it until the quality starts to decrease. I'm glad I'm not replacing ink every 30 pages or so anymore like I was with my previous printer!

The color and quality of the Canon ink cartridges is great. Even when the ink is low, it still creates high quality text. I have used generic ink cartridges but have had poor results. Even when ink cartridges have been refilled, they don’t last as long as these original ink cartridges. The Canon brand is more expensive, so shop around and ask for a price match.

We purchase all of our computers, printers and supplies from Best Buy. The quality of their products and the way they stand behind whatever they sell if reason number one. Maybe even more important, never have we encountered an employee who wasn't extremely polite but also very helpful. We are SENIOR citizens and can easily be confused by all these "newfangled" products. They have always been so kind and never condescending.

The cartridges are the standard Canon ink replacement cartridge for my Canon printer. The ink I had before had run out so I went to Best Buy to replace them. Found them without any trouble at the store and purchased from a very personable clerk at the register. Installation in the printer is simple and easy so I'm all set to go for another couple thousand pages printed.

I really like that my printer uses separate ink cartridges for the various colors so I only need change one at a time. Canon inks are pricey tho - my printer needs frequent changes. I've found that I can print well after the printer 'ink out' indicator light comes on however. I simply hit 'ok' when the indicator lite comes on; the light goes out & I continue to print until the print starts to look weird...

Well this is kind of a printer review too. . . The color generated is fantastic - I have a Pixma MG7720 which includes a sixth gray tank. I goes through ink fast and the color is being used up while doing b&w copying so I think I have a setting goofed up, but still I am very happy with the quality. The ink is in line price wise with other inks and it seems to last longer than the Epson I just replaced. Go for the XL cartridges, they last longer.
