Fast prints, reasonable price, great results!
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Photo printing, PriceMelissa, the department manager (amazing, knowledgeable, upbeat), showed us photos made with the printer and we were very impressed. I bought one for my office at school and liked it so much, we went back and bought another one for home use!

Excellent printer for medium format printing
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this printer to replace a earlier generation HP medium format printer. I compared several Medium format brands and models. I read reviews and compared features. This printer has met or exceeded all of my expectations. I am an Architect who frequently uses a 36"X24" format. I PDF my drawing files and then print them at 50% scale, resulting in an 18"X12" format. This size is much easier to take to meetings and is more convenient to keep around the office. This printer produces highly accurate prints with a mix of fine line work, screens, graytone, halftone and full color images all on one sheet. The output speed is very good. I have produced several full color glossy prints which are well rendered and have very good color reproduction. Excellent covers for reports and marketing materials. The machine is normally displayed in the closed position. During operation the rear (input) tray will need to be extended and the front (output) tray will need to be extended. Opening the trays during printing will require a space of about 10"-12" behind the printer and 8"-10" in front of the paper. When finished simply fold in the trays and the printer is very compact and attractive. I keep my unit closed when it is not in operation to keep out dust and foreign objects. Overall I give the printer 5 stars.

SO FAR pretty good, but NOT great
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAfter many years of buying Epson or HP printers, I finally tried a Canon iP5000. I LOVED it. When it died abruptly, I was up the proverbial creek. I tried to go inexpensive and bought a Canon iP7220. I do NOT need or want an "all-in-one" but I do want/need a printer that, on occasion, can do a quality photo. The iP7220 would NOT print an envelope correctly no matter what I tried; it also has other failings like a tiny paper drawer. I returned it and bought this model at approximately 2.5 x the cost. The iX6820 has the rear paper feed that I prefer and will hold, I think, up to 250 sheets in reserve. I am TROUBLED by the way you print envelopes, but it appears to be fairly standard these days. You must REMOVE all the paper in the feed slot. Insert the envelope in the feeder more or less centered. MOVE the paper alignment holders to center the envelope and print. THEN you must realign the paper guides and reload your regular paper. WHAT A PIA! Once we got the printer installed on my wife's laptop and signed into our house wifi (this took a bit of doing), it works beautifully in wireless mode! I can't tell if this one sucks up ink quite yet. I will revise my review when I have some observations on that subject. I understand that this printer WILL accommodate 11x14 or larger photo paper. That is an exciting possibility! Note that this printer has a large footprint.

Decent printer for the price

Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Price, Print qualityCons mentioned:Connections, Ink, WirelessBought this printer as an upgrade for my etsy shop. Overall the quality is great but if you want something that’s really crisp and clear spend the money for the pixma pro. I’ve cleaned the ink cartridge areas and everything and I still get lines on my darker color prints. It could’ve had a screen built onto it somewhere. The WiFi is very hard to connect to since you’re going off pressing a button and hoping it connects to your computer. Very heavy and large. Decent printer for the price though.

Excellent color printer

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This printer is excellent for photos, using 5 separate inks as opposed to one or two. It's fairly fast and can be used wirelessly, which I don't use. It has a large footprint, but not excessively so. Printing documents is fast and I really like the fact that it reverses the order of the pages so you end up with your papers in the correct order rather than last page first, etc. I've used Canon printers for many years and continue to be quite pleased.

Excellent printer
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis printer was an excellent choice! I was looking for a printer that would print up to 11x14 size. Be advised that this printer is large. It does take up a lot of desk real estate. Most images of the printer just show a picture coming out of the printer in a folded up state. By the time you open up the feeder guides and the catch tray, a lot of room is needed. I know some will miss having a small lcd operating panel on the printer, but you get used to working with the software on your computer or device. I wanted a dependable, high quality photo printer and that is what this printer is.

Does it's job.. very heavy ink drinker
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased the printer because I needed an inkjet printer with high definition prints that printed in larger formats than 8 1/2 x 11. This machine does 14 x 19.. which is the largest I could find at the time. I use the printer to make High Quality Photographic Negatives for Contact Exposures for Ageotype, Ambrotype, Cyanotype, Platinum, and Carbon Transfer Printing of photos. It does pretty good.. but I'd prefer that it allow hi def printing at the larger print sizes. It also drinks thru the cartridges like a two fisted drinker at a bar. Two complete sets of new cartridges costs as much as the printer.. I've been living at Cartridge World as the six cartridges the machine comes with are half filled. I'd love for a printer to be made that you can fill with ink like the commercial models.

Good large format printer

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This unit is located at a construction trailer, and is holding up very well in less than ideal conditions. Although it comes with software and drivers we are able to connect it to Windows 10 computers without loading anything. The Windows 10 driver seems to work fine by itself. The software does allow you to monitor the printer and provides a control panel, but for easy printing we just use the Windows 10 driver.

Q: QuestionWill this printer print on 85 to 110lb cardstock?
Asked by dajbob.
- A:Answer YES. I only bought this printer to address postcards I had commercially printed. I use 14 point postcards, which are about equal to 114 pound card stock, maybe even 120 pound. It fed my first batch of 700 postcards without any misfeeds! You can load up to 30 or so sheets and it doesn't even choke! I think that since this printer is a wide format (can print up to 13 x 19 inch paper,) that they made it with a heavier feeding system, so it handles the heavy stock fairly easily.

Q: QuestionDoes it include all the required cartridges or not? I plan on using this printer for just standard plain paper 8.5 x11 document printing. Would this printer still drink up the ink? It is just a printer with no scanning or copying features correct?
Asked by Corey.
- A:Answer Yes, all cartridges are included and it really is a great printer. I use it for photography and print full color prints, 11 x 14 and the ink lasts me a long time. It is just a printer, no other features. I would highly recommend. You can also try using generic ink on Canon printers that also has worked well for me and if all you are printing are documents it could work well for you and save money on cartridges. Worth trying it. I really do love the printer. Hope this helps.
