Cooktop with Downdraft Vent Installation

Required accessories include a new gas line connection kit (existing cannot be reused), available for purchase at Best Buy.

• Before we begin: To prepare for installation, make sure someone 18 or older is present at the appointment time.
• Disconnect the existing cooktop: We'll start by unplugging the unit from the electrical outlet and disconnecting the gas. An existing, dedicated, functional, non-corroded and code-compliant shutoff valve is required.
• Install the new cooktop: We'll use the new gas line connection kit to connect the unit to gas. Then, we'll fasten the cooktop to the countertop.
• Install the downdraft vent: We'll use manufacturer-supplied hardware to fasten the downdraft vent to the existing countertop. Then, we'll ensure that each new unit is properly adjusted for existing ventilation capability, and the back-draft damper is fully functional.
• Connect the vent and cooktop: We'll check the exterior wall cap and ensure there are no blockages. Then, we'll install a direct wire connection for the vent to an existing electrical outlet and ductwork. We'll also connect the cooktop to the electrical outlet.
• Final steps: We'll level and test the appliance for functionality, clean up our workspace, answer any questions you may have, and let you know how to contact us for future support.
• Purchase haul-away services for an additional fee: When you buy a qualifying cooktop from Best Buy, we’ll haul away and recycle or relocate your old one for you. (Not included)
