Creation is one of the finest biopics I've seen in recent years. It's based on the life of Charles Darwin and the personal struggles with which he dealt as he made his journey to the release of his landmark book, "On The Origin of Species", the seminal study which cemented him as one of the greatest figures in modern human history. Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly are stunningly honest and exposed in their character depictions of Darwin and his devoted but religious wife. It's the story of loss, grief and courage in the face of personal and social risk. Anyone who watches this film cannot be unaffected by the struggles and courage portrayed by Bettany and Connelly. The direction, acting, and screenplay are top notch, and I wonder why it didn't command more attention from the Hollywood elite. Perhaps the powers that be lack the courage to recognize a film that may be considered too controversial. I was permanently moved by this film.
