I love the speakers except for one thing, I wish they made the center speaker could be mounted on top on off monitor, as it is now, its very hard to place the center speaker in front because it blocks the monitor.

Hooks up easily in a few minutes. Sounds so far is excellent. Have personally laid my center speaker on its side since it is too tall to sit in front of my monitor without obstructing the screen, a horizonal design would probably have made more sense, or at least a choice of stand instead of a fixed verticle stand. Despite this these were well worth the money.

AWFUL!

Bought these to replace a 5 year old set of crfeative 5.1 speakers where the left rear channel had stopped working. On set up it rapidly became apparent that these were WAY inferior to the ones I was replacing!
Bass was coming through the center channel louder than the sub woofer and NO change on sound card setting would alter this.
Push the sound level even slightly above 25% (on an on board via 5.1 sound chip, nothing fancy!) and the distortion is horrible (again, not so on the creative system it was replacing!
After messing around with settings and getting a halfway decent sound for music, when I played my Falcon 3.1 flight sim, the sounds were all messed up; couldn't even hear air traffic control or my airmen! At this point called customer servie, boxed it up and am returning for a refund!!

I hooked this set of speakers with my laptop (XPS 1330) with NO problem at all, my soundcard supports 5.1 so it was as easy as plug and play.
Regarding the satellite speakers, They have a fair length and should allow you to set the speakers far enough to create a surround sound environment.
The Sub-woofer is deep, smooth, and clear.
Lets go back and consider that we are not talking about a $300 Home-Theater.
This is just a 5.1 Speaker System. I'm guessing this system carries around 50RW
It has an outstanding performance for a living room, a single bedroom apartment or your own personal room.
If you live in an appartment complex, I promise you can get neighbor complaints preaty quick.

Subwoofer DOA

Only three connectors into the SB Recon card I have and there is absolutely no sound from the Subwoofer. Read reviews on other sites and checked Creative's support page (no help there# but from the reviews from other sites, it sounds like there are a lot of these subwoofers that are DOA and most complain about one channel just crapping out. All I wanted was a cheap pair of 5.1 speakers, guess all I really need is a 2.1 as long as I can get the .1 to work. Would not recommend unless you purchase locally and keep your receipt and box #I unfortunately threw my box away before verifying the subwoofer, I just assumed a Creative product would be good).
