A feature I insisted on was the door with a handle you can just pull to open, instead of having to push a button on the side to open the door. This Cuisinart has that, and looks good. The description claims it delivers 1,000 watts, which would be enough, but I question that claim. It takes over 3 minutes to boil 12 ounces of water. Not only that, but Cuisinart programmers decided you don't really want the last 15 seconds, so when you enter a time (say, 3 minutes), the heat turns off at 2 minutes 45 seconds while the fan and platform continue to spin. When this microwave dies (or I get too sick of its flaws), I'll replace it with a Panasonic, the company that patented inverter technology and licenses it to Cuisinart and others. That's what I had before, and it was excellent for many years (it eventually died). I guess if you don't mind waiting for a weak microwave to heat your stuff, this Cuisinart works fine.

We have been using this microwave for about six months and are pleased with it. The power settings work well, and it accommodates larger dishes on its rotating platform while taking up only slightly more space than the older microwave it replaced. I like having a handle, although the instructions on using it (has a pull up tab at the top) need to be included with the manual not the warranty. We do not use many of the specialized settings, but I was pleased with the defrost setting.

We were specifically looking for a microwave with a handle, not push-button opening and it was a bonus to find that in a Cuisinart. We looked at all available brands and are very happy with our choice.
