This set of speakers caught me by surprise. For the price I found them at, these were more speakers than I really needed them to be. To start, let's talk about what is included in the box. There are 2 satellites (normal speakers), 1 sub woofer, a controller for volume and bass level, a mp3 player stand, and an auxiliary cord. One thing I should point out for setup is that the cords for the satellites split from the same cord, but are very short. To solve this problem, gently pull apart the cord at the split. If you don't do it gently, you'll tear up the rubber housing exposing the wires. Now the overall cord lengths are reasonable and you should have no problems getting the speakers where you need them. So the setup is relatively easy.
The sound quality is what caught me by surprise. The satellites have crisp highs, and don't distort until you reach a higher volume setting, which in my opinion is too loud for anyone, so you probably won't have that problem. The satellites don't produce good lows though, and that's where the sub comes in. On a solid surface, preferably against a wall and on the floor, the sub delivers a good low and when adjusted correctly, gives a good balance to the satellites.
The design of these speakers are alright, however there are few problems. If you have a country or rustic style of decor, these won't work with it due to the shiny silver and glossy black which leads us to our next problem: the glossy black speakers. The moment you touch it, you're going to be sorry. It leaves and immediate, big, and quite noticeable fingerprint. You will probably find yourself cleaning these quite often due to finger prints.
Overall, these speakers are definite buy for anyone looking for great quality at a decent price. Cyber Acoustics has really raised the bar for computer speakers in recent years, and this is another testament to that statement.
