A: Hello Mike, this model has a step on the bottom where the compressor is located. As per the interior dimensions are Height: 28.5", Width: 18" , Depth: 16.5" (-4" on the bottom for the mentioned step). Also, there are no electronic or cooling coils on the top of the unit, however we need to let you know that any change on the structure of the unit will void the warranty.
Q: What about ice buildup? Defrosting?
A: Does not have a freezer which is one of the reasons I bought this particular model.

A: Hello, Thank you for your question. The overall interior dimensions for the refrigerator section are 23 inches high by 13 inches deep by 17 inches wide. At the bottom of the refrigerator there is a step where the compressor is located and this section is 7 inches high and 9 inches deep leaving 7 inches between the step and the door area.
