Dell Inspiron Desktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first thing I have to mention about my purchase of this computer is the speed. I'm clocking over 112mbps and loving every minute of it. I can multitask like never before. My Intel Core i7 core processor is ahead of it's time and the entire system was worth every penny. I've already recommended my Dell Inspiron to others. The only thing I found so far that I'm not quite satisfied with is the CD/DVD R burner drive tray. It's thin and not well built. The tray is very flimsy (weak) and though it pops out when you eject a CD it doesn't slide out automatically or slide in automatically. So be careful not to put pressure on the tray or it will snap easily. Over all though I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Above and Beyond Desktop!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't say enough how much I have enjoyed this desktop! Overall, a must buy If you are looking into purchasing a Tower. PROS: - It's really, really fast. I haven't had any issues with lag on it while running multiple programs. The 12GB of Ram and 8th Gen Processor really shine in this aspect. - It has a lot of storage, more than I really need at 1TB. However, I like this option as it gives a lot of flexibility to store plenty of larger files without worrying about deleting other things. - The NVIDIA Gelforce graphics card really shines. It processes movies/tv and games really smoothly. Its nice to have that dedicated graphics card as opposed to upgrading it later. - Virtually no bloatware on this PC! I find myself deleting a lot of unnecessary programs when I first get computers but I only did a few things on this one. - Great Price. Think about buying a laptop with these specs - it would be over double this price easily. CONS: - It isn't a big tower but its not small either. It would have been nice to be smaller but I get that it has a lot of components in it and room for personalization. - The Keyboard/Mouse that comes with it aren't wireless and it does not come with any speakers. Not a deal breaker but just both things people like. - I wish they had USB-C ports on the front just so it's a little future proof

A Workhorse that is easy to dive into
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have to admit that in the past, I have shied away from Dell computers due to the amount of pre-installed software and configuration nightmares I've run into when setting it up for MY needs. I'm pleasantly surprised to discover this was not the case with this system. As a business professional in the tech industry and a published author, I have pretty clear goals for any computer system I dive into. It has to have the performance and memory to handle multiple browser platforms, software development environments, a wealth of writing and research tools, and still have enough gaming power to take off the edge from a hard day at work. The specs for this system addresses exactly what I need. The unboxing, setup and installation were pretty painless. No need for the handy picture based setup guide. Plugged everything in and booted it up. For a desktop tower, it is amazingly quiet. The Windows setup was smooth - the only piece of software I removed was the anti-virus subscription. (I use something else.) There were a lot of Windows updates to download and this is where I hit a little bit of a bottleneck. The included Wifi is the Qualcomm QCA9565 which only supports the 2.4GHz band. So, it would have been nice to do all these updates via the higher band. The installation of my other applications went without any issues or conflicts. The Intel Core i7-8700 processor, combined with 12 GB of RAM provides more than enough power for my needs. The system didn't flinch one bit when I launched 2 different browser environments and opened over a dozen browser apps loaded, with music playing, and without any increased fan noise. The included Nvidia GT1030 graphics card with 2GB of RAM is more than sufficient for my humble gaming needs. I downloaded the Nvidia GeForce Experience software, installed Steam, and 3 of my go to games (Minecraft, Civilization V, and No Man's Sky). With Civ V, I was able to keep a constant 58 to 60 fps while playing the game. Overall, very sufficient for my gaming needs. I ran the system through the Novabench computer tests and gathered the following stats: - CPU Score: 1408 - RAM Score: 239 - GPU Score: 395 - Disk Score: 37 - Overall Score: 2079 Overall, I'm very pleased, and surprised, with the performance and quality of this computer system. I was slightly disappointed with the low band Wifi, but the addition of a $30 USB device can take care of that. If I was a little more serious about performance, I would look at an SSD drive, but for my business and writing needs, this system fits the bill perfectly at an easy to handle price point.

Good performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Dell Inspiron 3670 is a solid desktop tower pc that gives you a lot of power and expandability without taking up to much space. The Intel I7 processor and 12gb memory make quick work of everyday basic pc task like email and browsing the internet. The tower runs quietly while doing the basics and watching movies on or off line. Basic photo editing ran without any issues either. Even having Chrome running 10 tabs open while playing a movie with VLC the Dell never showed any signs of slowing down. The tower itself is not much of a looker just a rather plain black box with the front panel having a glossy finish with 2 usb 3, 1 micro usb 3, 1 card reader and a mic/headphone plug. On the back there are 4 usb 2, vga, hdmi, ethernet and mic/audio ports. I would have liked more usb 3 ports. I do like that the power button is lighted and there is a status light. I have 2 older HP desktops and 1 has a lightbar at the top of it that is really bright and the other has no status light. Having a status light may be more of a personal thing though? The usb keyboard and mouse are good. The keyboard is about 17 1/2" by 5" full QWERTY with number pad. It does lack some buttons like play, rewind, fast forward and brightness controls. The lack of brightness controls may not be an issue since most monitors have this built in. The mouse is a pretty standard usb mouse. For an everyday use desktop tower pc this Dell Inspiron 3670 has exceeded my expectations and needs. With it's Intel I7 processor, 12gb memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 2gb graphics I think it will continue to meet my needs for years to come.

Lots of ponies under the hood on this one!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.6 cores/12 threads of i7 power - what's not to love? Before I say anything else - the hardware is pretty basic (but also high-end) , which is to say that it doesn't have a lot of expandability, BUT, it's a great machine by today's standards! In other words, if you want a powerful machine out of the box that can play some games and handle all the productivity you can throw at it, this machine is fantastic! I'm not going to complain about this machine at all, but if you're coming from my background (I usually build my own machines), this is what you'll notice. (See photo of the internals of the machine and of the power supply label). It only has 2 memory slots, both of which are occupied. It only has wiring for one hard drive (power from MB and SATA cables would need to be purchased should you want to add a secondary or SSD). The nVidia 1030GT is fine with older games like Battlefield 4 or Star Wars: Battlefront , but to play more modern games you might need to upgrade. Power Supply is only 290 watts. If you upgrade anything, plan on upgrading the power supply as well. The case is very lightweight, but it's also not as heavy-duty as some of Dell's other cases. The computer is very quiet - even while gaming I've not made the fans go into overdrive and sound like a jet - that's a good thing! For an at-home business or small business, this machine is a no-brainer and I believe is the target audience. For this purpose, definitely 5 out of 5 stars!

Solid workhorse desktop with power to spare
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC is a powerhouse which will rock your office. There are some interesting choices Dell made in configuring this machine, but it’s clear that they’ve focused on reliability and a familiar Dell feel. The case is well ventilated to keep it running cool. The processor and graphics board fans are virtually silent. The only sound you hear is the hard drive. This compact tower has two front mounted USB 3.0 ports, along with an SD card reader. On the back, you’ll find 4 more USB 2.0 ports and the standard sound, video, and network outlets. Out of the box, this machine has 4 active video ports: 2 HDMI ports, a DVI, and VGA. The DVI and one HDMI port are driven from the dedicated card. Using those will give you the best performance, as the card adds its own separate memory. The GT 1030 board runs 2x-3x better than using the built in graphics. Combined with the 8th generation core i7, this machine flies on photo and video editing, as well as playback. The knocks on this machine include a lack of 802.11ac networking. This slows and otherwise strong execution. For a tower, expansion is also a little lacking. It comes with a 290W power supply which limits the video upgrade options. This machine is not for serious gamers. Adding a 2nd hard drive is also problematic as there’s nothing to securely mount the drive to. You’ll also need either a special cable from Dell which plugs into the motherboard or pick up a Y power splitter. When you’re ready to expand, a better option is to slip in an Intel Optane drive or an NVMe SSD drive such as the Samsung 970 EVO 250 GB to speed up your boot time. Overall, this is a solid machine with good expansion potential. You really can’t go wrong with Dell reliability, and I would expect that to continue in this case, As long as you’re not a gamer, you won’t regret this choice.

Incredible Desktop, Compact and Powerful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm definitely a power user when it comes to PC's, working as a software architect for a major software company. As such, I almost never purchase a PC that doesn't provide a good balance of horsepower and expandability. While this PC is being used in our home for our sons to do homework, I was still looking for a PC that provided that horsepower and expandability. The Dell Inspiron 3670 provides an Intel Core i7 processor with 6 physical cores and 12 logical cores (see photo). Dell deliverers this coupled with 12GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB hard drive. I personally have upgraded the PC to 16GB of memory and added a NVME Solid State Drive to the M.2 slot that Dell provided on the motherboard. This is an easy upgrade as long as you realize that the M.2 slot is for NVME SSD's and not SATA SSD's. I didn't realize initially that M.2 SSD's were available in the two formats and the SATA SSD that was installed first was not detected by the UEFI BIOS. After replacing this with an NVME SSD the BIOS detected the SSD and the Dell PC performs incredibly well. While 95% of users may not require this upgrade, I mentioned it because the Dell manual at the time of writing did not advise which type of SSD is supported on the M.2 slot on the Inspiron motherboard. I was incredibly happy with the design of this computer, both externally as well as internally when upgrading a couple of components. If you're looking for a really great desktop PC with some expandability for the future as well as very powerful components for today, the Inspiron 3670 is an excellent choice.

Great Personal Computer!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first desktop computer in quite sometime and I’m very pleased. It’s perfect for the family. Out of the box I noticed how light it was. Connecting the wires and power cord was extremely easy. Initial Dell updates took a very long time though. I’m not removing a star because the blame can also be on my wifi. I like that it’s a Core i7 and that under the hood has some great things. What I liked: Lightweight HDMI Plugin Processor Multiple USB Ports Comfortable Keyboard Comfortable Mouse Built in wireless modem I recommend this computer for personal and family use. This is perfect for those looking to upgrade your outdated computer. It’s perfect for everyday use. This maybe perfect for small businesses, however you may need to upgrade if you’re part of a larger business. Also, I don’t think this is for you if you consider yourself a serious gamer.

Q: QuestionDoes this pc's motherboard have any m.2 or nvme slots?
Asked by Duh.
- A:Answer It's labeled as an m.2 slot. But NVMe drives can have m.2 or pci-e form factors.

Q: QuestionCan I hook up 3 monitors? thx
Asked by TD.
- A:Answer By default, no. There are only 2 ports on the video card. However you can purchase a usb adapter to add additional monitors. We did this at my work to support users who needed 3 monitors. See the products I recommended.

Q: QuestionI don't see size in the specs (seems like that would be a no brainer to include). I can only go up to a certain height to fit in my desk space. Can someone provide?

Q: QuestionSome of the reviewers suggest replacing the internal hard drive with an SSD, can anyone recommend one?
Asked by TimR.
- A:Answer Samsung evo870 work great. I would add this to the system as the Boot drive and use the 1tb drive as storage. The motherboard has a slot for it already.
Answered by Blazer
Q: QuestionDoes this computer have room for a extra internal hard drive.
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer There's room in the case, but there's no place to mount a 2nd drive. It simply lays on top of the primary drive. Also, there's no extra power plug for an additional drive. You have to get a Y adapter or a power connector from Dell.
Answered by Dan0Sterling
Q: QuestionDoes it have solid state storage?
Asked by Aklak.
- A:Answer It has the capability as it contains an NVMe slot. You will need to add the driver, however. I put a Samsung 970 Pro on mine and it works like a charm.
Answered by Praxeis
Q: QuestionWould this be good at gaming, and will I be able to play PlayerUnknown Battle Grounds on it?
Asked by TDKanawyer.
- A:Answer This small inspiron runs surprisingly well with its i7 CPU ... and 12-16Gb RAM. I did have to upgrade the minimal Nvidia GTX 1030 to a Dell GTX 1050 4Gb to improve GPU performance. Given the "short" motherboard I had to order from Dell a compatible "Short" GPU Card and uograded PSU. These upgrades were not too expensive and now t hi is Inspired should play PUBG even better than before.
