Perfect for my needs. I really wanted a laptop with Windows 7 as I hate 10, but wasn't looking to spend major $$$$. After careful consideration , and asking a few very tech savvy colleagues and IT at both my jobs, I purchased this one. So far, it's great. Fired right up. The major tip off that it's a refurb is the stickers put on the letter keys. However, it creates a more matte finish and makes it easier for me to see them--less glare, so that is fine with me. The screen is also no glare-easy on my eyes. Excellent, essentially new condition.
Joysystems, the authorized Microsoft refurbisher this came from, shipped it out super fast. I got it in 2 days. So glad I didn't opt for the upgraded shipping option at $22. I don't think it would have come any sooner. I had another Dell laptop, Inspirion line, a few years ago that I liked very much, but this Latitude E5430 is much sturdier. Has all the bells and whistles I wanted, plus a few that weren't listed, like the back lit keypad.
Overall, I couldn't be happier. I do, however, suggest getting a cooling base (Belkin, $10, Ebay). It does seem to run hot but the cooling base solved that very nicely. At $348, great deal, fast computer, easy set up, clear instruction on how how to register Windows 7 software, and tech support contact number if needed, along with 1 year warranty. I would have liked the owner's manual but I suppose I can hunt that down in my spare time. So far, no regrets. I'm a happy camper.
