Pretty good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The espresso is OK but the default setting for amount of water is nearly double that of traditional Italian espresso. We just tap the button again when it reaches 2 oz but you can change the setting with a programming change. It takes some adjustments to get it all right so don't expect a perfect cup the first few times. (Even the instructions say that!) Was NOT impressed by the quality of the "stainless steel". With a lightly abrasive (not metallic) sponge we scratched the heck out of the drip tray cover the first time we cleaned it. That's pretty absurd and now ugly. It's too late to turn back but I guess we'd consider something a step up from this. The double espresso holds about 14g of coffee max, so if you want to really go 16-18g, that's unlikely to happen. Too fine a grind and the machine struggles to send water through and you get a slow drip. The plastic tamper is lame considering the price. Also, we are a bit doubtful of the durability of the rubber nozzle inside the frothing wand.

Awesome espresso first try
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been drinking coffee for 15 years. In all that time I have never owned an espresso machine, just all the fancy ways to brew, pour over, french roast etc. so I was excited to purchase this item. When reviewing it seemed well like, reasonably priced, and effective at making quality espresso. I received it last night, this morning I followed the easy start instructions and WHAMMY, great tasting latte right out of the gates. I didn't play with coffee grind, temps, none of that and it was very good. I even used a simple cheap grinder to grind the beans, I don't even know how to properly tamp a shot. I know there is a long ways I can go to perfect the art of espresso, but with how good the first shot was, I may not have any motivation to get better. All said, wonderful machine, simple to operate, great fit in my kitchen, good looking. Really couldn't be happier with this product.

Easy and tasteful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much better than a keurig! Actually taste like a good coffee hut drink and much cheaper! Our only gripe is that you can’t use the steamer simultaneously with pouring shots..but it’s easy to figure out and get a system down so it’s still smooth!

Q: QuestionHello it says it’s not BPA free. What parts are BPA? Does hot water flow through BPA material? Thank you.
Asked by CoffeeDrnkr.
- A:Answer Nice of BestBuy to actually mention that it's not BPA free. Even Delonghi website doesn't list it in their specs. After seeing your question I became concerned so I contacted Delonghi. Here is their reply: Thank you for your recent contact to our Customer Service Center. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. Only the plastic parts that are not in contact with water or coffee are not BPA free. De’Longhi is an international brand, and the health and safety of our customers is paramount concern. All materials within De’Longhi brand products have been carefully designed and evaluated in order to guarantee high performance, reliability, and safety. We want to reassure you that all parts intended to be in contact with food of the De’Longhi Coffee Machines EC680 Dedica you are asking for are food grade and tested for applicable requirements. The parts in contact with food of De’Longhi Coffee Machines EC680 have been selected, starting from raw material that do not intentionally contain BPA. There are different kind of plastic resins in contact with water and coffee in models e.g.: - Water Tank is made in Styrene-acrylonitrile resin (SAN) - Steam Milk Frother is made in Polyacetal resin (POM) - Filter Holder Base is made in Polyamide resin (PA66) all these have been tested for BPA content and, based on the outcomes of that, we can reassure you that they do not contain BPA.

Q: QuestionWhere can I purchase espresso pods for this machine? Is a tamper included with this machine? Can I use a regular coffee bean grinder or must it be a specific type of grinder?
Asked by Dinosaur.
- A:Answer Espresso pods (E.S.E. Pods) are not usually found in US retail stores, but can be found online. My eperience with these pods is poor. Buy as good a burr grinder as you can and experiment with the grind to find the best for the coffee you are using for espresso. A plastic tamper is included with the machine, but I found that a 51mm stainless steel tamper made a real difference in flavor and cleaning out the pucks of coffee from the filter. There are numerous tutorials and reviews online that will explain how to use the machine and variables in making good espresso. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionWhat accessories go with this?
Asked by Teddybear.
- A:Answer While I love this machine, I found the plastic tamper to flimsy. I purchased a heavy, steel, calibrated tamper. Because I hold the filter holder under my grinder, I've never used the scoop. Caveat: I did not purchase my machine at Best Buy.

Q: QuestionI would like to upgrade the tamper. Can you tell me the mm size?
Asked by Queenofre.
- A:Answer I use the BlueSnail Stainless Steel Coffee Tamper Barista Espresso Tamper 51mm Base Coffee Bean Press, it works perfectly.

Q: QuestionHow many cups of espresso coffe can you make on this machine? For how many people?
Asked by Mel.
- A:Answer You can only make one double shot at a time, so technically two singles will pour out at once. The time it takes to make two complete lattes is about 8 minutes, you have to make the foam, cool off the machine, make the espresso, then repeat, unless you make enough foam for both drinks.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the DiLonghi Dedica EC680 and EC680M? Also, do they shut off when the shot is finished pouring? Does the model ECP3420 shut off automatically and is it good quality? Thanks
Asked by Katie.
- A:Answer Hi, there is no difference in function, only design. EC680 comes in black and red, and the EC680M, is metallic. The Dedica does have a stop feature, however our ECP3420 model does not. Thank you.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the Dedica EC680 and the EC685M that causes the price difference to be higher on the EC685M?
Asked by Nina.
- A:Answer 2 Differences: The Cup Holder for 685 have a metal holder/ tray.... .and the steam wand also have 2 positions forfrothing and heating...Everything else is the same
