For those not in the know, this movie comes from the Showa era (named after the period of Japanese history that lasted from 1926 to 1989...bet you didn't expect to learn something today!) which most Godzilla fans know as the years of Godzilla's more lighthearted, sillier outings. In this particular movie, Godzilla and his menagerie of sometimes-friends-sometimes-enemies including the likes of Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, and goofy son Minilla find themselves under the control of alien invaders, who are then set to lay waste to Earth's major cities. It all eventually leads up to an all-out brawl against Godzilla's famous nemesis King Ghidorah. If this plot seems familiar, it's probably because elements of this wind up in 2004's Godzilla: Final Wars. It's a silly romp through sci-fi antics and giant monster rampages in the far far future of 1999, and if you want to see a team-up that's pretty much Toho's answer to The Avengers, give this a shot.

Greatest movie, all monsters in one place. I saw it when I was fourteen the first time and have looked for it on DVD ever since I found Godzilla, King of the Monsters with the original Japanese version. I love the ToHo monsters.

A very nostalgic movie from my childhood that I can now share with my son in HD quality. Well worth the money bringing back plenty of memories and creating new ones at the same time. Thanks
