The air practically pulses with anticipation and the mood in the arena has reached a fever pitch. This crowd is ready to see a fight, and who are you to deny them? You step into the Octagon, face your opponent, shake hands and it's on. Besides the mean mug staring back at you, everything else fades to black. Your greatest asset is your focus, and it lets you interpret the slightest muscle twitch as a premonition for the swing or kick that's about to come. The circling dance you've been in abruptly ends with two swift jabs and an uppercut that you avoid — but just barely. You use his momentum to add even more force to the elbow you swing around and slam into his jaw. The shock of it reverberates up your shoulder and neck. He's still on his feet, but you know you've got what it takes. The crowd will be happy. It's going to be a good fight.

Fans of MMA fighting know that no other sport in the world matches the intensity that can be found in this arena and EA SPORTS UFC harnesses that intensity and brings it to your next-generation console. Authentic fighting physics are delivered by the Precision Movement locomotion system, which provides more believable strikes and takedowns, as well as the full-body deformation system that lets you truly see the power of every strike with displacement of the fighter's flesh in real time. EA SPORTS UFC raises the bar for character likeness with a high-definition 3D head and body scan of every licensed fighter, as well as an elevated level of facial expression and emotion. Test your skills against smarter, more capable opponents with the simulation of human intelligence in the MMAi system and utilize your surroundings to pull off jaw-dropping moves, such as a roundhouse kick off the side of the Octagon. From the floor to the mat, you'll need every bit of focus and strength, because EA SPORTS UFC takes the action, emotion and intensity that can only be found inside the Octagon and combines it with the amazing abilities of this next-generation console for an adrenaline-pumping, heart-pounding, guts-or-glory kind of experience that you won't soon forget. Decent start for the next-gen, improvements needed

This game is a great first try by EA but there are definitely improvements to be made. The game's strength is that it is easy enough for new players to figure out after a match or two but also complex enough that if you learn all the nuances of the controls you can be above and beyond the rest of the competition. I wouldn't really recommend it to non-fight fans/casual gamers though as this doesn't play like a casual party game (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Etc.) where you can button mash. There are some wonky animations here and there but overall the graphics are great. The other complaint I have is that some repeat over and over so if I'm stuck along the cage, sometimes there is nothing I can do and just take a beating until the round is over or I get knocked out. Also, the online community has it's fair share of takedown spammers but that has decreased over time so it's more realistic with standup fighting and ground n pound. I'd probably wait till the price dropped a bit more if you haven't bought it yet but for around $30 it's not a bad game. Or wait for EA Access!

Next Gen fighter is here, with EA's UFC. This game has a new feel to it, when it comes to the previous UFC titles. It feel's like a hybrid of EA's MMA and and normal UFC game. It takes a little time to get use to the controls, but once you do it's on. This game tries really hard to make it feel realistic, and does a great job. You need to think game plan when fighting, coming out swing may land you a big hit, but if it doesn't, you're done son. Trying to button smash in this game, will empty your character's gas tank fast, leaving you to the wolves. You have to keep your health and stamina on your mind at all times during the fight. Let a limb get hurt too much, and you'll be finished off, or can't punch/kick as well. The new career mode had you fighting for the Ultimate Fighter title, as you work your way into the UFC. And of course you can take your skills online, and prove what you're made of.

this game is not very easy to play but it is definitely fun once you get used to it. for the most part its like any fighting game but if you want to get down and dirty with the fighters there is a lot you need to learn and patience is required somewhat (i lack that which makes learning to play this game rather difficult). if button mashing is what you want, then you can get it out of this game for the most part, but if you want to get good at this game like on gamer level status like many of them out there (not me i suck) then there is lots and lots to figure out and have patience with. (button combinations, timed combat scenes etc.)

      great xbox one game

This is definetly a great simulation of fighting in the UFC. Graphically it is the best looking UFC game out there. The controlls are really smooth but have a somewhat steep learning curve. The character customization has alot of depth but not quite enough in the hair and beard department in my opinion. The fighting is really a satisfying feeling. The bruising and cuts look really good also. I give major props to EA for doing such a great job on there first UFC game. This is a defininate buy for any fan of UFC sports video games.

This game has not left my xbox since my purchase. The game has collision issues and some random floating fighters. These issues are not a deal breaker as the game has improved from earlier versions. The career mode is better than previous versions. The woman's division is now included which is a welcomed addition. Controls are pretty good no real complaints. The controls will take time to master as mma is a very technical sport and the controls simulate this. Overall I would give this a 8 out of 10.

      Fun game, too arcadey

If you're an MMA purist who wants your UFC game to look and play like what you see on TV, you will be disappointed. This is like the Forza Horizon of MMA games. The real fighters are there, and they look the part, but they do very arcadey moves like off the cage superman punches or German suplexes. Sure, some guys can do this in real life, but basically every guy in the game has these flashy abilities. It's also a bit light on modes if you've played the Undisputed games.

Overall, the graphics are great on the Xbox One. The controls, however, will take some getting used to at first. The submission system is different than previous UFC games, and is difficult to use. There is a nice selection of fighters to choose from, but when it comes to creating your own, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options. Everything is preset, such as hair color, tattoo placement, facial features, etc. I'm hoping a future update would allow for more customization options.

I hope I can return this

This game is terrible. I wish I could just port Undisputed 3 over to the One. The graphics are pretty spectacular, but I didn't pay $60 to stare at the graphics. If you hold down the triggers with your pinkies, then simultaneously press the bumpers to the beat of a random song while rotating the right stick and pressing a button, you'll throw a punch. This game is horrible, bottom line. EA has worked on this game for the past couple of years and it doesn't show whatsoever.
