The weight readings were accurate and consistent for all the users in my home. Weighs are 80, 100, 130, 190, and 370. The Scale has a very sleek design. Added features which are appealing include multi-user profiles. Profile tracks height, age, male or female and athlete status. Auto recognition of profiles is definitely my favorite feature. Downfall's; if you have any birth control devices, implants, heart monitors, stints or any other foreign implants you will only be able to track your weight. My teenage son has pins in his ankle so he can was sad to hear this. The athlete status can only be used by people who vigorously exercise 15+ hours a week or who have been exercising consistently for years. Which is a polite way of saying, if your significantly overweight the additional reading will not work for you. The percentages are not accurate because I am overweight. I know they are not accurate because I use Aqua-analytics. Which if you are unaware, is when you are submerged in water and the displacement measures your percentages. Very accurate. The fat was off by 10+ %, water off by 20-30%, muscle off by 10%, and bone off by 1%. I am currently exercising consistently for 7-8 hours a week using Crossfit, running and swimming. Soon enough athlete status will become accurate for me as well. For now I just add my percentages so I have an idea where I am between aqua-analytics appointments. We are 60% satisfied, hence 3 stars. I would recommend this scale to my very athletic friends at crossfit but not to those who are trying to loose more than about 30% of their body weight.

With this equipment you are qualified to measure your own body fat without any help or training. The goal when you test your body fat isn't to get accurate measurements. It's to get consistent measurements. You can go to any trainer and they will tell you the same thing. Datapoints are less valuable than trends. Buy this if your goal is to measure over a long period of time and want to enjoy watching your fat weight melting over time. If you're concerned about your body fat percentage, skip the commercially available body fat analyzers and ask your doctor about the use of more accurate measurement techniques. Dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. This is a specialized X-ray exam that provides detailed information about the ratio between fat, muscle and bones in specific parts of your body. Air displacement plethysmography. With this technique, you're enclosed in a computerized, egg-shaped chamber (Bod Pod, others). The device measures your weight and volume to determine your body density, then uses these figures to calculate your percentage of body fat. Underwater weighing. Also known as hydrodensitometry, this method involves sitting on a special chair submerged under water. Your underwater weight or body density is then used to calculate your percentage of body fat. This tool is as good as you are consistent. Drink the same amount of water each day, track your meals, sleep and exercise consistently. If you build the habit of measuring those 4 things you will be able to obtain more reliable data from this tool and make smarter choices to get you to your body composition goal.

My family has this tradition on Saturday where my grandfather and great Aunt comes over to spend some time with us/eat with us etc. And after we eat and all we have this other tradition where we sit in the living room and weigh/take blood pressure. For about a year and a half we were using this scale literally that was my double great grandmothers back from the 70's LOL... Well as you can imagine it would weigh the lighter people like 100 pounds and less so I got fed up with it not working for me ( I am a larger guy around 275 pounds) so I went and purchased this purely for the weight. I wanted my father (who is more like 350-365 pounds) to also be able to weigh. Most scales only go up to 300 without getting a hospital scale so this suited me perfectly for 400 pounds max. As far as I can tell the scale is working perfectly to gather accurate weight information. I (honestly) had no idea it did body mass etc, not that that really matters to me. (Can't change some people haha) So for the price of about 60$ this works great for weight accuracy. Another thought is that battery life is really good as well. I bought this back on 05/17/13, and I haven't had to change the batteries yet so I assume this is good.

This scale detects weight properly, but is horribly inaccurate in calculating body fat. If you change the height by a half inch, body fat goes up or down .05%. Height should not affect the outcome. Only total body weight and composition info from the laser. I weighed myself using a different body fat scale many times two weeks ago and recorded the results. According to the EatSmart, I lost 2 pounds and 2.8% body fat since then? I'd love to believe that I'm that much slimmer, but it isn't real. Even if I dropped 2 pounds of pure fat, I should have only lost 1% body fat. 2.8% in 2 weeks is also impossible without utilizing unsafe starvation methods, liposuction or chopping off a limb. If you simply want to know if you are gaining or losing you don't need a scale. Just use the mirror or a tape measure. Body fat scales are supposed to be for accurate record keeping and this one or any body fat scale for that matter is not worth it. They all use the same inaccurate formula.

I am not well verse in the weight scale world.. Thought all they did was tell you your weight but not this guy. I was thinking of getting a FitBit Scale but after searching for scales on Amazon and seeing the amazing reviews on this, I went to BestBuy.com and ordered it. Have not regretted it ever since. It seems very accurate and the BMI, water, muscle mass, and bone mass measurements is awesome. I do not feel any electrical shock at all. Easy to create your user profile and I like how all you have to do is stand on the scale and it weighs you.. No more tapping to turn on like most other scales.. Scale is a must buy If your in the market.

This is a great scale to use if you are looking for a reliable, accurate touch and go weight, but is has great bonuses in determing total % of body fat, muscle mass, and total body water as well as an estimate of bone mass. Multiple users can be set up easily and the scale automatically matches to user based on weight after initial setup- as long as the user has not lost or gained a significant amount of weight between readings and as long as the different users are not within 6 lbs of each other. If these circumstances apply the scale will not automatically pick a user but you cab identidy which user to record under manually. All in all its a good scale for basic statistics to keep track of progress whether your goal is building muscle or losing fat or both this scale can help you keep on top of your goals and multiple household users!

I am not in shape. I decided to buy this scale because my orthopedist told me my muscles were too weak and that was why I was constantly hurting my joints. I did not expect the body composition to be totally precise, but I thought at least I could keep track of my improvement. A month before that I had been to a nutritionist who said muscle percentage was low, and that my fat percentage was around 30%. If you saw my pudding-like belly, you would probably agree. So, this scale arrived today, and I decided to test it. It basically says I am athlete - or a Victoria Secret's model, I don't know. According to it, I have 19% body fat and 38.6% muscle. That's ridiculous.

I couldn't believe how sleek and beautiful it was! The quality is definitely there. Within minutes I set up my user profile and was ready to go. The beauty of this scale is its accuracy, design, ease of use, and ability to program up to 8 other users. Customer service is extraordinary and I received the item in a matter of days. Where else can you find great customer service coupled with a product designed to tell your weight, body fat percentage, muscle mass percentage, water weight, and bone mass! And they even provide you with the necessary batteries! Highly recommended!!!
