    Employee of the Month
When a pair of ultra-competitive clerks at a discount super store discovers that a beautiful, newly-transferred cashier has a reputation for only dating employees who have won the coveted Employee of the Month award, their desperate efforts to earn the title and get the girl lead to a hilarious war of one-upmanship in this winner-takes-all comedy starring Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson, and Dax Shepard. Zack Bradley (Cook) and Vince Downey (Shepard) have been working at the cavernous Super Club for ten years and counting, but while the ambitious Vince has advanced to the position of head cashier and landed 17 consecutive "E of M" awards, laid-back Zack is content to simply sit back and enjoy the company of his fellow box boys. Longtime rivals whose conflicting attitudes as to what constitutes success has led to more than a few conflicts, Vince and Zack find their bitter battle for Super Club supremacy coming to a head when attractive new employee Amy (Simpson) transfers over from another store. When word quickly spreads that Amy only has eyes for the cream of the crop, slacker Zack attempts to clean up his act and break free from his box boy roots while uptight Vince tries to impress by maintaining his top dog position and keep cool in the face of competition. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Jessica Simpson is attractive. The movie is not.

A pitiful excuse for a romantic comedy, if you can call anything that has no usuable jokes throught its running time a 'comedy.' Perhaps I'm biased against Dane Cook, but I don't find anything he does or anything he says funny in the least. His 'jokes' in this movie involve little more than repeating the same line over and over again - to no comedic effect. Jessica Simpson needs acting lessons. She might become a decent actress one day, but today is not that day, and tomorrow isn't looking too bright either. If you feel the urge to waste a few dollars on something that you'll never receive any pleasure from, buy 'Employee of the Month.' If you want to spend money on a genuinely entertaining movie that features Mr. Cook (albeit in a significantly reduced role) in a service industry role, buy 'Waiting,' and thank me after.

      better at home...

When I saw this at the theatre I was really hoping for an action packed smash hit.... not so. I've watched it a few times at home now and loved it. For an dvd to add to the home collection for boring or easy-going nights, get it. Oh... and it's 3.99. And this is probably an actual 3.5 or 4 but I'm rating it a 5 cuz it deserves much more than the 1 or 2 the other few people gave it.

This movie is not funny, the acting is terrible, and its depressing that the characters dont aspire to anything in their lives except for working at the stupid store. All the so called funny parts you will see on the preview. This movie is a pitiful attempt at humor driven by love interest. The plot is basic, here is a dilemma the protaganist has to solve -get the girl- lame

      Good date night movie.

If your wife likes "chick flicks", this is a good one to buy. She will probably think that it is a cute movie and you may actually be able to tolerate it.

Dane Cook's best feature film employee of the month is the funniest of all his movies with a decent supporting cast. His rivalry with Dax Shepard will be why you cant look away or stop laughing.

      not to good

Bad acting, Jessica Simpson is a horrable actor, and in my opinion she ruins this movie. not to good of a plot, some funny moments, but overall a moive you would not watch more than once every 4 years.

      Good Movie

I really enjoyed this movie. It is a lot better than what it looks like, and even if you're not a fan of Jessica Simpson you should see it. She's hardly even in the movie. Very entertaining!

Dane and Dax go well together. The storyline is a little strange but overall good purchase for a Dane Cook fan.
