Q: Can you add more memory and if so, how much?
A: Yes, you can upgrade the RAM up to 16GB total but I recommend having an authorized service center perform the installation.
A: DVD players are not built into x360 form factor computers since the drive needs to remain upright in order to work. However, you can certainly use an external DVD drive, which will connect to any available USB port.
