Great 4K projector for a reasonable price.

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:4k, Picture quality, PriceIt’s bright enough for a room with lights and the 4K picture is quite stunning on a large screen. You will need two people to mount it as it’s huge and the 3D glasses for it are almost always sold out (Epson). The setup is quite easy as keystone and picture size can be adjusted on the remote control. Very happy with it so far

really good projector.

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:4k, Color, Picture qualityjust got this projector on sale at bestbuy and I must say wow color accuracy is amazing. 4k movies look really good. Only thing i didn't like was that it dosent support 4k@60hrtz I tried to mess with my xbox one s settings but it wouldn't allow it. After some research I learned it will only do 4k@24hrtz if I'm not mistaken. Still pretty good for movies and gaming and really bright even when you have ambient lighting. The digital horizontal and vertical lens shift is very good. I had to build a diy floating shelf for this projector as it is big and heavy. I have it 13 feet away from the wall approximately and it gives me a 125" image easily. Overall this is one of the best pixel shifting 4k projectors out there for the price.

Best Current Bang for Your Buck!
Posted .Pros mentioned:4k, Color, Picture qualityI ordered the 4010 from Best Buy on Monday and the expected delivery date was 10/03/18. However, I got an email last night that my projector had arrived at my local store already. Being the impatient person that I am, I ran over and picked it up. I am coming off a Sony VPL-HW40ES, and I was pleased with that projector's picture in a light controlled setting, but not with any ambient light. My use splits about 50/50 between watching movies in total darkness and watching sports with the lights on. I am by no means an AV expert so take this review with a grain of salt, but so far, I am very impressed! I understand this projector has limitations but, for me, it hits the current sweet-spot on 4K, ambient light performance and price. I didn't have the budget to spend more than $2,500 on the PJ and I wanted 4K capability. (I know it’s not true 4K) My initial thoughts with absolutely no tweaking to the settings. 1) This thing is massive! I assumed, incorrectly, that the ceiling mount from my existing Sony would work and it’s not even close! The mounting arms are nowhere near long enough. 2) The colors out of the box look fantastic! Again, I am no AV expert, but to me the colors look better and deeper then the Sony. 3) 4K Sports on DirecTV look amazing! I re-watched an old 4K recording of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament and couldn't take my eyes off it. Excited to watch the ND/Stanford football game in 4K Saturday night! 4) Viewing in ambient light is much much better than my Sony and it’s really not even close! Overall, I am very pleased with the 4010. I know the chipset has some limitations (not having the 18gbs chipset) and it’s not true 4K, but for me it’s the right tool for the job. This is my 3rd PJ and I upgrade about every 3-4 years and this unit will be a nice bridge until I can afford a true 4K model with enough lumens to handle my ambient light needs. Here are a few photos from last night’s initial setup.

must have for your next movie night
Posted .it can do 3D! Seriously, how cool is that? it's pretty much plug and play and so easy to use. it's a little big, but not a huge deal as it's worth the size for all the features it has. i'm loving it and can't wait to use it more and more.

Elevate Your DIY Home Theater
Posted .Pros mentioned:4k, Color, Picture qualitySetting up a home theater? Now you can enjoy the ultimate 4K experience for your DIY Home Theater with the Epson Home Cinema Projector available at Best Buy. I am so excited about this home projector. Being able to enjoy the ultimate 4K experience in your own DIY home theater elevates the experience and enjoyment of your home theater. The Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K Pro-UHD Projector has Advanced 3-Chip design and High Dynamic Range which means theater like projection. Most of our households have cable television and/or a blu-ray player that we use to watch programs or movies as a source of entertainment. But the ultimate 4K experience is watching your favorite sports team beat their competitor using the Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K Pro-UHD Projector for the ultimate game experience. Take a peek at the clarity the Epson Home Cinema 4010 can produce in your home. The colors are vivid and the size is bigger than life on our bedroom wall! The Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K Pro-UHD Projector displays your favorite shows, movies, sports, and games the way they were intended to be viewed – on a big screen with bright full-color stunning resolution and free from objects and distortions normally found in other projectors. Your family and friends will enjoy the exceptional viewing experience that the Epson Home Cinema 4K Pro-UHD Projector gives your movies, sports, and games. The few requirements needed to set up and enjoy the Epson Home Cinema 4010 4K Pro-UHD Projector is a room or area where you can place the projector at least ten (10) feet away from the wall or screen, a HDMI cord and a blu-ray player or streaming stick to feed content to the projector. We set up the projector in a spare bedroom that my husband wants to make his media room. As you can see, the picture is amazing just projected on the wall, however, you can also use a projector screen if you do not have a solid wall or if you want to take your projector outside or to another location. Depending on the size of your room or the location you plan to use the projector, it can be mounted from the ceiling or on a wall shelf. The Geek Squad® at your local Best Buy would be happy to help you with the best setup option for your home. I was surprised to learn that the projection area ranges from 50” to 300”! How cool is this when you want to have movie night outside (by the way – the garage doors make a great projection screen)! If you enjoy going to the movies, you will love this projector. The large screen provides a theater experience at home. Winter is coming soon, followed by for most of us..months of stay inside weather. The Epson Home Cinema Projector would make an awesome gift for the family. Find more information and how to details at your local Best Buy Store.

Great projector
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Color, Picture qualityThis is my first projector and I am more than thrilled that I decided to go this route! This is a great projector! I have a light controlled theater room so I have this paired with an Elite Screens 120" Cinewhite screen. The room is 17x16 and the lens is about 12' from the screen. It is very bright and the colors are vibrant. I was stuck between going with a white or grey screen, but the brightness of the white won me over. The ease of adjustment simply from the remote is outstanding. The quality of the picture is great, and I've yet to do any calibrating.

Updating from Epson 2040
|Posted .Pros mentioned:4kDon't hesitate to update to the faux 4k era of projectors. I bought this with the Epson mount that BB also sells and it's a big improvement from a mount I purchased at a discount retailer. Looks great with some ambient light. Looks stunning in the dark. I use this with NVidia Shield (Netflix HDR, Amazon 4k, HBOGO 1080p, Kodi, etc), UVerse Cable, Nintendo Switch, SNES/NES Classics, and XBox One S as my 4k Blu-Ray player. I mounted this almost flush against the ceiling because the lens shift allows you a lot of flexibility. The ability to focus and zoom via the remote is really convenient too. Switch games are great and no one noticed any lag on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when the processor was set to "Fast".

An incredible picture for a great price!
Posted .Pros mentioned:Picture quality, Price, Set upMovies are a big thing in our family and we recently replaced our old projector with this new one and we love it! Set up was a breeze and I had it up and running in no time. My first immediate reaction was WOW, the picture quality is incredible. Not having 4K then having 4K you can really see the difference. The projector has 2,4000 lumens of color and white brightness which basically means you are getting full, bright color and the picture is not distorted and pixelated (like our old projector was). A while back I had priced replacing our old projector and found that 4K projectors were pretty pricey so this price point is really good in my opinion!

Check the user's guide on how to install it. Hope this answers your inquiry! Regards, Eduard - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionSay I plug in a Ipad to the back via the HDMI adapter. Then can I Bluetooth the audio to a speaker or do I have to wire the speaker via the AV port?
Asked by Bluetooth.
- A:Answer Hi Bluetooth, Your iPad will send both audio and video to the projector if you connect it via HDMI. But, if you use a VGA adaptor to connect the projector, it will transfer video only. Then you can pair your iPad to a Bluetooth speaker for sound. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: Questionif my room is 8 by 8 what size screen could i use for this
Asked by snake.
- A:Answer There is little point in getting a projector in a room that small. The image is going to be as smaller, if not smaller, then a conventional television.

Q: QuestionI need to pick a projection screen that works best with Epson 4010 projector. Should I pick 2.35:1 or 16:9 - does this projector work for both aspect ratios?
Asked by Vini.
- A:Answer Hi Vini, You should get a 16:9 screen to match the Home Cinema 4010's native resolution. The projector can internally resize to 4:3, so if you want 2.35:1 you would have to resize at the source. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

Q: QuestionConsidering getting this or the 5050UB. I am going to be using it for movie viewing in 4K HDR mostly, not for gaming. Would there be a big difference between this and the 4010UB?
Asked by Nick.
- A:Answer The 5050UB has much better contrast/blacks. However, you must have a light controlled treated room to properly take advantage of the better black levels. If you don’t or can’t treat your room... in other words, if your room has white walls and ceilings, then get the 4010. If you do have darker walls and ceilings, then get the 5050UB because your room can take advantage of the better contrast and darker blacks. Aside from that, they’re virtually identical in color, lens, and features. The 5050 can do 4K60hz HDR, whereas the 4010 can only do 4K24hz HDR. That mostly applies to gaming.
