Q: Is this lens good for my sony a7riii?
A: This lens is perfect for almost any shot where you have the space to be a little back from your target. Clarity is beautiful, focus is sharp and crisp. Has been my go to lens on my a7II for most of my shoots. Would be a great pairing with you camera.
Q: Is this lens compatible with a Sony A5100 digital camera?
A: This lens is an FE lens, but it will also work on the E-mount A5100. Keep in mind it's a full frame lens, so with the A5100's APS-C sensor, it's effectively a 135mm (Read: zoomed in). It does produce really great images on an APS-C Sensor, good for upper body portraits.
Q: Will this work on a Sony a7111 ?
A: Yes it will
A: I used it with the a6300 and autofocus was spot on. Pretty quick response had only a couple of hiccups but that may have been due to lighting. I only shot a few minutes of video and it performed well, didn’t have any issues. Just keep in mind the crop factor, as you may very well be aware of. Other than that, the lens of sharp and bokeh is great. My pictures turned out better than I expected in a poorly lit environment.

Q: How well does this lens work with a6300?
A: I'm not certain you can put this lens on a APS-C camera/sensor seeing as it is a Full-frame lens. But if it's compatible, the APS-C sensor is typically has a 1.5 crop factor, so the 85mm focal length will act as a 85 x1.5 = 127mm lens
Q: Is this lense compatible with the a6300 series, since it is an Emount?
A: Yes. It will work, auto focus and all the electronics will work. Since the a6300 has a crop sensor, you will be 1.5x zoomed in as will every other lens on a cropped sensor. To fully take advantage of this 85mm lens you will need a full frame camera such as the a7 series. This is a good purchase if you plan on upgrading to full frame one day.
Q: Does this work with the a7 ii? Also, how does this work with the 2.2 crop feature to make it 187?
A: Yes I actually have mines on a a7ii

“A Portrait Lens That Just Feels Right”
The Sony 85mm f/1.8 is one of those lenses that just makes photography feel easy. It’s lightweight, super sharp, and the autofocus is fast without ever getting in the way. Sharp sharp sharp
What can I say? This is hands down the best of the best when it comes to “budget full-frame lenses”. This lens has 100% professional grade optics, Sony is just literally flexing with their extreme attention to quality whilst choosing the elements and their orientation when designing this budget lens. The 85mm to me, is a must have focal length in any kit for both video and photos..if you love super fast autofocus, tack sharp pixels, and most importantly the creamiest, buttery bokeh you can find on a sub $600 lens... Well then you my friend, Need to stop searching and SLAM that ever so attractive and devilishly shy, school bus yellow “Add to Cart” button and thank me later when you get compliments left and right on your workflow and how beautifully the ultra compressed depth of field that you managed to capture looks... Seriously though. Get the lens. Best $500ish dollars I’ve ever spent. Do it Stay Sony Shooting My Friends

My Favorite
This lens is sharp. The bokeh effect is pretty darn good. This is my favorite portrait lens so far and the price is not bad. I’m using this on my A6500.
