The best soccer game I have EVER played.

This game is AMAZING!! I really liked FIFA 07 on the XBOX, but I bought a 360 and I wanted a soccer game for the system, so I bought FIFA 08. The first time I played it, I honestly didn't care for it that much because it was SO different. However, as soon I got the hang of it, the game became extremely entertaining. Great manager mode--I love the fact that you can improve the specific attributes of all you players, so if you think your striker is too slow, you can put all the experience points into speed and acceleration. There's always a really good player you can pick up in free agency for much cheaper than buying them in the transfer market. For some reason, Lionel Messi, Puyol, and Evra were free agents in my manager mode, but who's complaining? There's just so many ways to score--long shots, crosses, corners, lucky bounces, breakaways, you name it. Pretty good online mode. It's just annoying when someone quits early, but that's in all XBOX games with online. The only thing I really think could send the game over the top is if in future versions the crowd moves and is interactive with play...when the home club scores, GO CRAZY! Jump up and down! Clap your hands??!! Something... The game has a great soundtrack (like all FIFA games do). I even have some of the songs on my ipod. Well, this is the best FIFA game to date.

Fifa 2008 is a great game and I definetly recommend you purchase it. The new moves, graphics and gameplay make it the best soccer game out there. The manager mode is great, and very difficult which makes it more intriguing and fun. The best part of the game is the multiplayer, either 1on1 or 2on2 with your friends or online. There are intense matchups and it creates great fun. This is a great product.

Best Soccer game out for the 360

If your looking for a soccer game for the Xbox 360, you've found it (unless you want to wait until Feb-March for Winning Eleven: Pro Evolution. The gameplay is slick on this game with a few errors here and there. It is very, very challenging and isn't a game you can pick up right away and become a pro. It takes time getting used to. They brought back the trick-stick which is awesome with numerous tricks that you can pull on your opponents (my favorite being able to juggle the ball while stand still and kicking it up in the air, then doing a rainbow around the defender-works every time). Online is amazing. Especialy now that you and your buddy can play again 2 other people. The graphics could use a little work, especially when they show the replays. It seems more of an early on Xbox 360 game but it doesn't down the game too much. Some of the options are confusing and hard to get used to but we can live with them. And they improved the create a player with thousands of options. Especially fun when you create yourself and get to play with the stars.
Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a soccer/sports game or enjoys soccer.

A much needed next instalment in the fifa series, this game expands much on the hurried release of fifa 07. A very nice feature is the huge variety of leagues and players. The only downfall is that gameplay is much different from the previous title but this has always been true with the fifa franchise (im sure with a little getting used to it will be a marked improvement). The innovation of be a pro mode is amazing and is a nice break from the usual. Overall a great game with many hours of great gameplay trying to get the numerous achievements for a higher gamerscore. Highly recommended.

If you aren't a soccer fan, this game might be boring for you. If you ARE, welcome to the game-play of football!! First off, FIFA should lay off the English accent commentary! It's extremely annoying. The pros, are the choices that you are able to do. From the choice of BALL, to the choice of position you want to be play in "Be A Pro Mode - offline."
Highly Recommended for the soccer fan.
Recommended with Caution for the non-soccer fan.

FIFA 08 is the best soccer game ever created. It has made several improvements from the 07 version. It has added a vaste number of new teams and it has allowed you to use your favorite player in Be a Pro mode. My favorite new feature in FIFA 08 is the fact that you can perform all the signature moves the players do in real life. The graphics are still incredible and I recommend this game to anybody who enjoys soccer.

Great game for football fans

Overall this game is great. Most of the players look pretty similar to their real life counterparts. The realism of gameplay is the best of any fifa game ever. If you ask me it should get better each time around and there is always something that can be improved upon. (Are you listening EA) I'm waiting for the day when the fans in the stands look more real and react to the ball if it is hit towards them. It would also be nice to hear those raunchy English chants directed at the opposing team. There's profanity in the tracks on the game so don't tell me you can't have the crowd saying that Arsenal are sh... you get the idea. I want to see the captain pass on the armband when he gets subbed off. I want to see Nani's backflip after a goal. I'm a hardcore fan and I'm hard to please, what can I say. The commentary is a little repetetive as usual but Martin Tyler is quality and brings instant credibility. I've had the game for about a week and I still haven't tried all the different game modes. I'm addicted to manager mode until I win the league. The previous reviewer has it right in saying that you can't just play this game a time or two and master it. This is the most challenging title in the series. The skill moves are cool but sometimes difficult to pull off, especially in the higher difficulty levels. You'll definitely want to keep playing this one once you've started. Lasting appeal is important with Xbox games becuase they're so expensive. I already said why it gets four stars instead of five... There's always room for more

EA Sports was brilliant with their graphic editing...almost to the point where it seems too real and is very complicated and not as much fun. Spend some time finding the right camera angle and a favorite team and it'll all come together eventually. Shooting is quite difficult at first and the throughballs seem weak.
360 and the HD capabilities make this game amazingly high tech. Gameplay is still a bit slow, improving every year, but by far this is the best fifa yet. The trick skills are the coolest addition, specifically showing off the class of players such as Ronaldinho, C. Ronaldo, and the long kicking abilities dealing with Gerrard, Lampard, or Kaka. In the end I would definately recommend this it is worth it.
