After having this game for a little over a week, I’ve had many different opinions on the game. I purchased the gold edition, which includes the game, deluxe edition and season pass. First off, I wasn’t too thrilled about the campaign. There wasn’t much to offer in the single player, as Ubisoft didn’t even attempt to make a decent campaign. But, all the hype was meant for the multiplayer. And yes, the online multiplayer is pretty good honestly in the general sense. There’s 5 game modes total, Duel (1v1), Brawl (2v2), Skirmish (4v4), Elimination (4v4), and Dominion (4v4). But, Duel, Brawl, and Elimination are all the same, just with different team sizes. It’s basically a deathmatch with best of 5 rounds. And Skirmish isn’t the most popular game mode, as there’s no true objective. It’s just who’s better at double and triple teaming a single player. And Dominion is a mode where your objective is to control zones A, B, and C. Which is one of the more popular game modes. So really there’s only Dominion, Deathmatch (1v1, 2v2, 4v4) and Skirmish (not that entertaining). I’m just hoping they add more game modes playable in online mode. In larger deathmatch games, like 4v4, there really isn’t much strategy, as players will just 1v2 or even 1v3. There is a way to defend yourself in this insane unfairness, but 95% of the time you’ll lose if you’re battling against multiple warriors at once. On a side note, as you are playing online, you’re also fighting in a Faction War. It’s a war of the factions, where they’re fighting to control the most amount of territories. There are 3 factions, Knights, Samurai and Vikings. When you first start playing the game, you must choose from the 3. These factions are equally balanced and it is up to you what faction you would like to be fighting for. Within each faction are 4 heroes. So, 12 heroes total. There will be 6 new heroes added to the game later in the year, 2 more per faction. The thing is, if you choose Knights for example, you can still play as the Samurai in online matches. As you play multiplayer, you’ll receive war assets, in which you’ll deploy on enemy (attack) or friendly (defend) territories. You receive more assets if you’re playing as a hero of your faction. Like I said before, I would like them to add more online modes, or else this game may get dry pretty quickly. If you don’t have other friends that are playing this game, you may get bored of this game due to lack of content. But playing online with friends and just having a good time is what is going to make this game live on. If you’re looking for a multiplayer game to play with friends, and not interested in a single player mode (or both), then this is the game to play. But, if you’re one of those people that is more interested in a well made campaign, I recommend passing up on this one.
