      Forget about Chilling White Wine

I am on my 2nd wine fridge(same make and model) Best Buy was great about exchanging my first one. Why did I exchange it? Well, the temperature would never go any lower than 50 degrees. (It is supposed to be able to reach 46 degrees) I followed all the instructions for trouble shooting to ensure that it had the optimal conditions to cool. We even placed it in several different locations, thinking that it needed more circulation or a different surface to sit on. Nothing worked to lower the temperature. Now, we are on our second one and guess what??!! It doesn't cool down to 46 either!! In fact, as I type, it shows 51! Since red wine is best served between 50 and 55 degrees, I'm thinking we'll only use this fridge for red wine. I do like that it matches my appliances and that it has the blue lighting inside that you can turn on and off. I have not used the light though as I fear the temp will rise even more. I could probably return it to Best Buy and get a refund, but I've not got the energy now! Would I buy another? Nope, not this brand!

HumanYuman, I am distressed to hear of your wine cooler experience. When checking the temperature in a refrigerator (or beverage cooler), opening the door, location of thermometer, type of thermometer, and air flow patterns can create variances in the temperature. Use a digital thermometer put in a liquid that has been cooling for more than 24 hours to ensure an accurate reading. Should Frigidaire

What can I say? I picked this wine cooler up on sale for $75--and at that price, it's decent...though I definitely would not pay more for it...and probably wouldn't even purchase it again, knowing what I do now. For starters, it looks to be about as cheap as you pay for it. Build quality seems reasonable, but don't expect to be wowed by the quality of its build or appearance. Thus far, this unit has been adequate at keeping wines at my desired 58 degrees inside my ~70 degree home. So what's the issue, you ask? One of the annoying quirks of its thermoelectric cooling is that once the desired temperature is reached, the fan responsible for that magical temperature regulation VERY frequently cycles from low to high and back again--like every 5-10 seconds... And while the fan is not terribly loud (even in its "high" state), the whirring transition as it spins up and spins down can really be very noticeable and disruptively annoying in a quiet room--which is the case in my house. All-in-all, I don't think I'd buy this model again--I would instead invest my money on a higher end unit that looks nicer and doesn't subtly drive me nuts.

I was looking for a wine cooler since about 6 months, and I was really looking for one that could hold at least 20 bottles or more. After searching for it I realized they didn't carry great reviews; not even at the stores would they recommend them! I then found this cooler, read the reviews but always thought 8 bottles is just not enough. Until a friend told me:" This one has great reviews, it's only $99 why not try it out? " I did and I am so happy! The instructions on this unit are simple and easy. The unit itself looks great and doesn't seem to be built of low quality material. The front legs can be leveled to adjust the wine cooler and help close the door if left open. I plugged it in and it took the unit about 30 minutes to adjust to the desired temperature! That's quite quick! I loaded my bottles in the unit and it works great! It is so quiet, you can't hear anything! I guess 8 bottles is a good amount of stored wine; I mean I don't think I'll go through them right away. If you are looking for a wine cooler and haven't been able to choose one, I would tell you: Get this one; low price, works great and your purchase on the long run will be an investment. Think about it!

i searched litterally hundreds of coolers in all shapes and sizes and brands. I had a pretty versatile space planned to locate my cooler but wasnt sure that i would need a 20 or 30 bottle cooler as wine has a short life span in my home. i settled on this model based on reviews i read at different online websites. i have had it for only a week so can only provide short term feedback but for the 80.00 i paid at best buy, i am happy. it is quiet, doesnt seem to heat up alot in the back and holds the temp pretty constant. i like the interior light to see whats inside. i have put my cooler in a large built in bookcase with a few inches of clearance in the back and on both sides. when it is empty, it does easily slide forward when i open the door but i just try to remember to keep it stocked. also, i wish it had a few more inches of depth. some of the bottles i buy are a little longer in the neck and i can not put an opened bottle back in it as the cork is in the way. overall, if you are looking to buy a cooler, this is a good value.

I just bought this today after my beloved Cuisinart 6-bottle quit on me. I have a dinner party tomorrow night and was in a rush--it was the only small countertop chiller I could find that I didn't have to order and ship. Compared to the Cuisinart, it looks cheap--most of the construction is plastic made to look like stainless steel. The square corners don't quite line up, and the screws are very visible and drilled at slightly varied angles. As another reviewer mentioned, it is rather light and slides around on a smooth granite surface when I try to open the door, which has a strong magnet on it. I'll have to find some sticky rubber bumpers to put on the legs. My biggest complaint is that it doesn't hold my taller Riesling bottles or wider champagne bottles unless I remove one of the racks (reducing the capacity to four bottles) and put the taller ones in sideways. No champagne for dinner tomorrow! I'm very disappointed but not surprised since I didn't do my research. One plus is that it's very quiet--I can't barely hear it. The interior LED light is a nice plus--not too bright. It's chilled the bottles I have in there quickly.

I bought this mini wine cooler for my wife for her birthday and so far, she loves it. It does a good job of maintaining the selected temperature, as low as 46 degrees, at least according to the handy digital display. I picked this one because the dimensions (width greater than height) allows this unit to fit perfectly in our bar area on the countertop and below the cabinets above where our glassware is kept (see photo). All other ones that I looked at were taller than wide and wouldn't fit this space. We're currently maintaining a temperature of 48 degrees for her whites and my only concern is the unit seems to run non-stop, so I'm unsure how long it will last.

I bought 2 of these coolers, Plugged in the first one and set temp to 55. Reached 55 in 1.5 hours. Added 4 room temp bottles of wine. Reached set temp in less than 2 hours. Added 3 more room temp bottles. Reached set temp in 1 hour. Checked internal temp with a digital thermometer that read in tenths of a degree. Checking over a 6 hour period the temps never varied by more than 6 tenths of a degree. Set up the second cooler and put in 8 room temp bottles of wine at the same time. Cooler reached the set temp in about 2 hours. Set temp in both cases is 55F. The tall botles of white wines like Gerwertztreminer will not fit from front to back but you can still put 4 of them on a shelf by turning them 90 degrees. They won't roll out due to the shelf design. I plan on getting a third unit next month.

We bought this as a Christmas gift to each other and are very happy with it. We have a small kitchen and the compact size of this cellar works out perfectly for us. It would be nice if the exterior design was a bit more distinctive as it kind of looks like a second microwave oven in the kitchen. However, if you turn on the interior light, the bottles are nicely highlighted and it looks lovely. Otherwise it's so much fun to own. And it has functioned perfectly since we plugged it in about a month ago. We have placed a basket with wine glasses on the top of it for a nice look. We are quite happy with our little affordable luxury!
