Q: Is the self cleaning feature the conventional lock and heat method vs. the aqualift or steam method ?

A: Standard clean, no steam. Range works great!!

Q: Has anyone purchased an Extended Warranty ? I was surprised CR was not against buying one for large appliances. Other than vehicles, major appliances are considered the 2nd largest expenditures one will make. I surely regret not buying an auto EW.

A: I purchased the Best Buy Geek 5 year insurance. They promised to come to my small town to fix any problem if I had one. My son has been happy with the Geek protection he purchased on other products.

Q: What is the length and width of this stove

A: Hey there! I see that the height is listed as, 48 inches maximum and 29-7/8 inches for the width. -Thanks!-

Q: When the oven preheats, what does the control pad display? Can you see the current temp in the oven and watch it rise toward the desired temp?

A: Yes and no, it does display an image but its never really indicated where the temp was at. This oven does have a quick pre heat button where I've preheated up to 450 degrees in less than 10 minutes.

Q: Does this unit have a probe

A: Yes my unit came with a probe, it plugs inside the oven at the top right corner, and then displays the temp on the digital panel. Its attached to a cord that's about 6-8 inches long which can get tricky especially while trying to temp food that your cooking on the stove top, but it is nice to have and easy to clean.

Q: Is the touch pad glass or is it melamine/plastic?

A: Its not glass so I guess its the melamine/plastic you referenced.

Q: Does this have a simmer feature to not over boil things like soup?

A: Yes there is a setting like this, it says "simm" in between LO and "2".

Q: If No to induction I'll assume that means the stove top. I thought when stovetops were flat/smooth it was a given that it was induction heating. Does that mean that it will take that long time of uneven heating for stove cooking like regular burners ?
