A: The lights & area underneath get very hot including the area inside the microwave. GE is saying this is normal but I think it needs to be a recall. My last microwave never got this hot. I’m even afraid of a fire. They say don’t leave the light on long. Why is it a nightlight then & what do you do if you’re letting something simmer on the stove for a while….you can’t leave the light on? This is poor quality manufacturing. They need to fix this. They’re going to wait till it causes fires??

The cooktop halogen bulb is located near the front and center and the turntable can be turned off. The microwave can be converted to recirculating (indoor vent). The vents are located on the top of the unit and will extend beyond the cabinet so there should be no concerns with cabinet damage.The cabinet should be 12" min./13" max deep. A: It comes iwith the unit. We had to accommodate our opening to match the designated screws to attach it. But it worked perfectly and is in place as if it was custom made for that space.
