  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: true (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)
    • Operating Sound Level: 46 decibels adjusted (Today's appliances are pretty quiet. To get a sense for how quiet you'll need, think about having a conversation in the same room. • Child Lock: true (Setting that allows appliance to be temporarily locked to prevent use.)

Q: The time delay light after I go thru all the 1 thru 12 Hours finally get a number 175 on the delay screen and I can not get rid of it. So I have been just watching it after I hit START and the number keeps getting lower as time goes so WHAT is the 175

A: Hello - Great question! The Delay Hours feature delays the start of a wash cycle up to 8 to 12 hours. Press Delay Hours, to select the number of hours, then press Start one time and close the door to begin countdown. The cycle will start once allotted time has expired. Press and hold down the Start pad for 3 seconds. This will cancel the entire wash cycle including the Delay Hours setting. We hope this helps. -Mikayla@GEA

Q: Are there any lights and sounds when setting the cycle or when it finishes? And if so, can they be turned off? Thanks

A: Hi there, and thanks for reaching out with this great question – we appreciate your interest in the dishwasher! This model does feature indicator lights and sounds – a ‘Clean’ light, ‘Sanitized’ light, end-of-cycle signal, etc. The sounds can be muted if you wish, by pressing the Dry Boost pad 5 times within 5 seconds. Generally, the lights will be on if the dishwasher is operating; we regret any inconvenience that may cause. There is also a Sabbath mode to put the dishwasher to ‘sleep’ so the control display, sounds and interior lights won’t respond to the door opening and closing, if necessary. More information on the lights and sounds are available on page 9 of the manual, which can be viewed on our GE Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. We hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions or concerns, we are glad to assist any time – best wishes! -Sarah@GEA

Q: Does this unit have leak detection

A: Hi 1dirtydog - Model GDT665SMNES has Active Flood Protect. This feature consist of a sensor that recognizes and prevents potential overflow situations from occurring. This sensor is located under the filter inside the tub, replacing the mechanical float. This type of protection would be extremely beneficial on new construction sites if supply lines have not been properly flushed. Q: Is this smudge proof

A: Hi Booboo - Thanks for considering GE! Model GDT665SSNSS does not have a smudge-proof finish. We also offer GE® Stainless Steel Interior Fingerprint Resistant Dishwasher with Hidden Controls GDP665SYNFS (FS= Fingerprint Resistant Stainless). Our Fingerprint Resistant Stainless offers a clear coat that allows the shine of the stainless to show through. Some manufacturers use a matte coating, resulting in a dull finish. Our clear coat finish is designed with durability in mind, and makes cleaning easy. Unlike Traditional Stainless, Fingerprint Resistant Stainless does not require the use of special stainless cleaners.
