A: I'm not sure if the plastic parts are BPA free, but the interior of the kettle is steel. I think the only plastic part to come in contact with the water is the pour spout filter part.
Q: Does this kettle have a cap on the spout that can be closed?
A: No. It seams like it should have one but it doesn't and I guess that's ok so far.
