I am retired and build PCs and optimize TVs and stereo systems on the side. This TV was packaged normally. The legs are set so you can't put them on backwards. If you are coming from a Firestick, installation is simple. If not, you will have to download apps and enter passwords normally. It is built well, no flex at all. The TV is bright enough to show colors and great detail. It is not as bright as the next model up, but plenty bright. Picture quality is excellent, the blacks are surprising and on OLED level. Out of the box, calibration is very good, I saw no reason to change anything. There are five options on video and sound, surprisingly, there is a noticeable difference. I prefer filmmaker, sports and vivid, but that is subjective. If you don't care for presets, the menu has all the options to change to your taste. Processing is outstanding, much better that last years model. It upscales well enough that you may not see it necessary to wire directly. The new HDR 10+ is remarkable. I tested it wiring my PC to it having the most popular recent CPU and GPU, it performed well with low latency. No Game Bar, but I have found that it is not necessary if you have good input. Of course, use game mode. TVs have come a long way with sound. This one actually has a subwoofer and spatial sound. The new version of Dolby Atmos is impressive. With sound, same as video, 5 presets to choose from. I recommend you turn up the lowest 2 bands. 50 watts, plenty loud for a bedroom, small apartment, or small room. It is not the same as a quality soundbar or stereo output, It doesn't have booming bass, but I believe for most it will be acceptable. Think comparable to a new car stock stereo. Overall, if this is your budget, you will be pleased. Like anything else, you can always spend more for diminishing returns. One potential downfall: To meet the price point and picture quality given, it has a narrow field of view. This TV is designed to be sat in front of. If you have a large room, keep that in mind, but for a bedroom or small living room, no problem. For those who are unaware of the brand, Hisense is a manufacturer that has been making TVs since 1979, with nearly 19,000 employees. They are not as known in the US as worldwide. Their business model is different, building their own panels and parts, which costs less, and passing the savings along to consumers, and accepting less margins for mass production. Buy this, you will be happy.

This thin TV is so easy to set up. I only had to attach the two small stands that make up the base and plug it in. The two stands have a convenient "T" shape and two screws that make it impossible to install incorrectly. Once I turned it on, I was prompted to log in to my existing account, and all of my settings were imported. It recognized the Wi-Fi without me having to enter a password or search for a connection. I plugged in several other devices, and they were also quickly recognized and worked immediately. There are 4 HDMI inputs, so I was able to connect everything I wanted to. The picture is vibrant and sharp. I was impressed by the quality of the video and I was happy that I didn't have to spend any time adjusting colors to make everything look natural. It all looked great from the start! The only odd thing was that the enclosed manual was used for several different models. I suppose they all have the same easy set-up, but the instructions for this 55" model said it would take "at least three people" to set up due to the weight of the TV being 140 pounds! I knew from reading the description before I bought the TV that it only weighed about 30 pounds, so I knew that wasn't correct. It did give me a bit of a surprise, though, wondering how I was going to get that TV onto my existing TV stand! Of course, since that information was a bit inflated, the TV fit into the expected space perfectly. I'm very happy with the ease of set-up, the importation of all my information, and the built-in apps that make browsing easy and enjoyable. The manual could use some updating, though!

I've been genuinely impressed with the 55 inch Hisense U65QF it truly punches above its weight class. What immediately caught my attention was the sheer brightness. The MiniLED and QLED combination makes HDR movies and shows just pop the colors feel incredibly vibrant, and the picture detail holds up even in a brightly lit room, which was a huge relief. Watching high-contrast scenes, the deep blacks are convincing, and the highlights are stunningly bright. As a casual gamer, the native 144Hz refresh rate has been a revelation. Games feel buttery smooth, and the responsiveness is virtually instant, which is a noticeable step up for fast-paced action. It's definitely a killer feature for the price point. Now for the couple of small drawbacks I've encountered. While the local dimming is very good overall, I sometimes catch a slight halo or "bloom" when a very bright logo or title card appears on a dark screen. It’s a minor annoyance. Also, the built-in Fire TV interface occasionally feels sluggish when I’m trying to jump quickly between apps, so I occasionally find myself waiting a beat too long. My final verdict? While the internal audio is just acceptable the picture quality is worth every penny. For anyone needing a bright, feature-packed 4K TV that excels at gaming without costing a fortune, I enthusiastically recommend this model.
