Q: I HAVE A NEW 70 PINT AND IT'S HOOKED TO A DRAIN HOSE WITH DOWNHILL FLOW BUT STILL FILLS THE BUCKET. SUGGESTIONS

A: I have the same problem. I removed the bucket and held the fill switch so the unit would run. The water did not exit the unit by the drain hose but on the opposite side. Something is amiss in the sealed part of the unit.

Q: what do i do to get a dh-70kpisle de humidifier to auto drai thru hose

A: We bought a Hisense 70 P yesterday at Lowes and it would only fill the bucket and stop. After looking at it carefully, we very slightly tilted it backward with a 1/4" spacer underneath the plastic center so front wheels are off ground and it is working perfectly. The drain hole for the water hose is further back than the one for the tank. Hope that helps you.

Q: Fed up with Hisense. They know their dehumidifiers don't drain out the hose, but they won't admit it, telling me I need a plug that is missing and to go and exchange it. Well the new ones in the store don't have plugs either, it is their crappy design.

A: I'm on my second with the pump. The first one stopped working via pump after about 6 months. The replacement (refurb) stops pumping and the bucket fills up. Hisense started ignoring when I told them the replacement isn't working. WILL NEVER buy another one of their products again and will spread the word!

Q: I have a fishing camp the walls get damp while I am away. Some one told me to get a dehumidifier. However seems you have to be there for drainage. Do they have one you can be away 7 to 10 days

A: Hi Peachie, all Hisense dehumidifier models are able to use a garden hose for gravity-assisted drainage. In this configuration, the bucket does not need to be manually emptied periodically. To attach the garden hose, the bucket needs to be removed, then install the garden hose, and replace the bucket in the dehumidifier. The water will then drain through the garden hose, and not into the bucket. Another option is to purchase a model with a built-in internal pump. One note, if your fishing cabin isn't well closed to outside air, the dehumidifier may run more, perhaps never reaching the humidity set point. To ensure efficient use of the dehumidifier, it's best if the space is well closed off from outside air. If you have any further questions, please contact us at 1-877-465-3566.

Q: The removable filter on the Hisense-50 pint DH, has ice on it which makes removal impossible. Do you know what might be causing the freezing? It is currently 80(F) degrees outside. Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

A: When this happens you have to turn off the unit to allow the ice to melt and then remove the filter. In reality the unit should not be icing up. Usually this is a signal that something is wrong with the unit. I called about this for another dehumidifier brand and they advised me to set the humidity to 55 percent. What this does is allow the compressor to run less frequently and maybe avoid creating ice, which it shouldn't do anyway. Plus your really want humidity in the 45-50 percent range. Icing is only supposed to happen if the surrounding area is cool, say less than the high 40s. Some even have heaters, which deice to prevent buildup. So in a properly working unit this shouldn't happen unless you have it set very low humidity and the compressor runs constantly and there's no deicer.
