Simon Pegg & Nick Frost At Their Best!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exciting and action packed, but also hilarious. Sean of the Dead is good, but this is even better! If you haven't seen it, you're missing out.

Wright/Pegg/Frost Action Genius!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hot Fuzz is the second installment of the Cornetto Trilogy, following Shaun of the Dead and preceding The World's End. Shaun of the Dead was the troupe's take on a zombie movie, The World's End is their take on a paranoia movie (a la Invasion of the Body Snatchers), and this here is their take on an action/suspense movie. Across all three movies, you'll see many of the same faces, but the roles are always different, so there's the built-in joy of saying "Hey, that was the bartender in the other movie, and the priest in the other other movie," but don't expect recurring characters. A couple of faces unique to this installment are 007 veteran Timothy Dalton and Rory McCann, who you may know as The Hound from Game of Thrones. Brilliantly written and performed, you'll catch jokes and foreshadowing and references more and more each time you watch any of the Cornetto Trilogy movies. Hot Fuzz is likely to be my favorite of the three, which says a lot, considering how great Shaun of the Dead was. Its story is fully understandable for a single viewing, but is really richly understood after several viewings, making it an invaluable home video purchase. Honorable mention for the bonus features as well.

British Dark Comedy Classic
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hot Fuzz is an unique, entertaining movie with lots of great characters and comedy coming throughout the this Cult Classic film. Hot shot cop in London (Simon Pegg) does his job so well that it makes everyone in the Police force look bad. So he is sent packing to a rural area Police Station where crime doesn't exist (on the surface). But then strange activities, including murder take place. (Simon Pegg) investigates with his new friend on the force to unravel the mysterious happenings in and around town. There are quite a few funny parts and action scenes. It is set in the pasture of a small quiet town which makes things all the more funny with overdrawn accents and jokes. Hot Fuzz is a real well rounded comedy, where eventually the good guys win!

Another Great Edgar Wright/Simon Pegg Offering
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hot Fuz is one of those movies everyone needs to see at least once. It's a fun film with a surprisingly refreshing and original take on the buddy cop film (much in the same vein as Shaun of the Dead was to the Zombie film). It has everything from the quirky British humor to intense chase sequences and a really compelling mystery to solve along the way. The set comes with a DVD copy as well as an iTunes digital copy and ultraviolet. To top it all off you also get a spiffy steelbook case with some great cover art. Definitely a must buy for any Simon Pegg/Edgar Wright fans.

It's a comedy, but may not be for everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are teamed up again in Hot Fuzz. The duo first appeared in "Shaun of the Dead", which is a fantastic zombie-comedy (zom-com). This time, Pegg is transferred from London, where he is just making everyone look bad as a super cop that follows every rule, out to the small town of Sanford, where there hasn't been a murder in years. Not to ruin the plot, but things aren't what they appear and the duo must overcome overwhelming odds to claim victory. Kudos to Timothy Dalton, whose character I really enjoyed. It's well written, the colors are fantastic in HD, and the 5.1 DTS-HD soundtrack really gives all 5 channels a workout, while keeping your subwoofer engaged frequently. And what movie would be complete without a winking nod to "Point Break", the epitome of late 80's action/buddy films. If "Shaun of the Dead" is in your collection, then "Hot Fuzz" should be there as well.
