One of my main computers
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a degree in Computer Information Systems, with a high GPA. As a hobby I am into Operating Systems. The Intel Pentium Gold is much better than the Intel Pentium Silver! The RAM of 8 GB is good enough for what I do with a computer. The 256GB SSD is enough storage, and the SSD really starts Windows quickly. Now, my mom's was a Intel Pentium Silver Desktop, in my opinion too slow for Windows 11, yet when I put Linux/ZorinOS on it cruises!!!

A great day to day PC for basic users!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My neighbor was retiring his old Gateway PC that had windows vista on it (yuck). He is an older gentlemen who all he uses his PC for is web browsing & pictures. I had some prerequisites for this PC purchase though. I wanted an SSD, more than 6GB of RAM & WIFI/Bluetooth. Certainly hard to come by in a lower end PC. But this HP has surpassed those expectations and then some. The M.2 SSD was a nice surprise much faster than SATA. The PC is very light weight and has lots of I/O on the front for peripherals. The display model at my local BB was not set up so I took the liberty of setting it up to see how it performed. I could not believe this thing rebooted in less than 15 seconds. It's def no high end i7 or i5 but this Pentium Gold @ 4GHZ seems to bring some good bang for the buck. It is also very very quiet and there is room for expansion if so desired. The mouse is standard hp and the keyboard is actually pretty nice to use with dedicated buttons on it for various Windows 10 actions and applications. I was surprised to see that too. Also, not much crapware either. Just McAfee, ExpressVPN, and the tried and true Wildtangent but no games all removed without any issue. There is a handful of hp applications also installed. I just left them the can be useful *sometimes*. I think the only thing I am upset about is no CD/DVD drive but one can be added after purchase if you really desire one these days. All in all if you're looking for a new desktop to replace your aging Vista or even 7 machine I would recommend this one. It's fast and doesn't break the bank and should provide you with many years of service. I work in IT so I know a poor value PC when I see one and rest assured this is not one of them!

"The Computer Chronicles."
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On July 10 my 13 year old tower was pronounced DOA by the Geek Squad member I brought it to! I bought a replacement for my old friend on the spot. After a few days of struggling with Windows 10, I brought it back because it was slower than the dead tower! ... I went online and ordered a replacement of the replacement. Picked it up a few days later, becoming a charter member of the "Computer of the week club!" ... This one was not equipped to connect wirelessly to my modum. I had to purchase a little adaptor, which helped. This unit was not much faster than the previous one and kept kicking me offline. ... Back it went and I ordered a 3rd replacement. It arrived without a port to connect my monitor! (Is there any way to use a computer without a monitor?) ... The store manager gave me an adaptor and it worked ... After a couple of days, it started freezing up on me ... I brought it back and the geek suggested I replace it!!!!!!!!! ... So ... I wandered around the store to avoid the torrential rain that had started. I encountered a saleslady and told her my long sad tale! .... She said, "Wait a minute" and scurried off behind the scenes! ... minutes later, she appeared with an open box HP that became replacement #4. I've had this HP for 2 weeks, and I believe it is a keeper!!!! ... It is FAST! No problem getting and staying online! Even the fact that it has no CD/DVD drive isn't a problem because I have an external one. Perhaps the other replacements prepared me for the Windows 10, but it is much easier to deal with on this machine. I need to thank all the geeks and sales people at Best Buy fpr their patience with this old lady!

Q: QuestionIs this computer’s processor more or less powerful than intel i5?
Asked by Kyle.
- A:Answer According to the Passmark benchmarks (google Passmark CPU benchmarks), this computer's CPU is almost identical benchmark-wise to an Intel Core I3 7100. I have the Intel Core I3 7100 in my desktop, and it is plenty fast for most uses (web surfing, word processing, reading emails, etc.), except maybe not for demanding gamers.

Q: Questionam i able to play games on this pc ? like fortnite and forza horizon 4 for example
Asked by este.
- A:Answer This is not a gaming PC. While you can play some games on any computer, modern games like Minecraft, Fortnite and most other popular titles require a lot of power. For this reason, I would recommend a model with a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).
