HP - Mini Netbook / Intel® Atom™ Processor / 10.1" Display / 1GB Memory / 160GB Hard Drive - Pacific Blue

I purchased the HP Mini instead of an iPad because I wanted to travel with it. What I liked is that it's so much more flexible than an iPad - including the fact that it has all the ports and card readers you could ever need for cameras, etc, when on vacation. It's also light and very portable and while smaller than a normal laptop, the keyboard is just as easy to use. The one downside is that I got a version with Windows 7 Starter, which I didn't realize has a lot of limitations. If I could do this over again, I'd get an older version of Windows so I had more flexibility. (By flexibility I mean you can't change your wallpaper with Windows 7 Starter.)

This was my 4th netbook purchase and by far the best one to date. I've had a Dell, HP 1000, Acer and now a newer HP. Great improvements all around with performance, RAM , island keys, and LED display for long battery time. However the track pad was a little weird for my taste. I recommend this unit for people who are running around and need access to the web. I use a fast at&t Broadband card with 200 mb for only $35 a month -( got inside Bestbuy mobile), and it works great with Windows 7 starter. Buy this netnook!

I bought one of those netbooks for my wife 3 months ago and the battery already is dead. I called HP Brazil and they told me the warranty is valid only in USA and now the worst: a new battery costs 100 dollars!!!
