A: I actually called HP before buying, it will max out at 16GB ram which I plan to do soon

A: Since it's a 6th gen core i7, geforce 940m, and 8 gb installed, you should be having a solid 60 fps or more depending how demanding the game is.
Q: Quad core?
A: Processor generation and number of cores has nothing to do. This is a i7 6500u, the i7 5500u or i7 4500u are 2 cores... But they have dual threads so will act as quad. The i7 6700HQ and up are Quad cores.
Q: is this laptop touch screen
A: This model is NOT touch screen, but there is a touch screen version.
Q: How smooth can it run minecraft?
A: Runs Vanilla and Modded Minecraft without any issues.
