  Genre: Harem, Comedy, Action, Mecha Length: 12 episodes "There are probably worse things that could have happened to Ichika Orimura than being the only guy in a training academy filled with military hardware and several battalions of highly competitive and extremely boy-crazed teenage girls. And being caught in a five-girl crossfire between his obsessive childhood friends Lingyin and Houki and the even more zealous British, German and French pilots Cecilia, Laura and Charlotte, at least turned out to be survivable. But surely, Ichika's finally put all his female troubles behind him, right? Oh, don't be ridiculous. None of the femmes fatales in his life have canceled their conquest scenarios; there's double trouble arriving in the form of the Sarashiki sisters; the rest of the school is still waiting in line to take their shot; and when a whole new set of female pilots working for the bad guys shows up with a new generation of stolen IS hardware, things are about to get utterly lethal! The mayhem continues, the mecha runs amok, the hormones run wild and the maiden's behavior becomes even less maidenly as Ichika gets schooled for a second spectacular semester in Infinite Stratos 2!" Soooooo so close to rating this one just 1 star! So many things that season 2 does bad and just not enough good to offset it. Truthfully, I was getting annoyed while watching this one and was just wanting it to get over with already. I enjoyed season 1, but 2 just seemed to focus on the faults of season 1 and didn't add anything productive. Here's the breakdown. Pros and cons as I'm tired and don't feel like devoting as much time as usual to this review. Pros: Great graphics. The CG animation flows very well and you can tell that they still kept a high budget for it. That's about all I'll give it for pros... Cons: Plot: lolwut? Individual episodes are enjoyable, but they don't flow well together and advances in the plot seem forced into the ending of episodes just to create a cliffhanger. Not done well at all. Characters: I like Houki and Chifuyu, but that's about it. 2 more characters are tossed into the harem mix that doesn't exist because Ichika is the worst main character to ever exist. I was so hoping that he'd die a few times, but the gods weren't smiling on me this day. New enemy: There's no explanation behind this group at all. The mystery element only carries something so far before you want to punch the director for not explaining what is going on. Ichika: As stated already, he's the worst MC in the history of anime; let alone in a harem series. Last episode greatly annoyed me when he gets a hole blown in him and then gets back up with no noticeable injury. Voice acting: This one has a stellar group of voice actors associated with it, but I still can't stand to listen to the English rendition. Especially the forced accents from Cecilia, Laura, and Charlotte. Graphics: While it was the only positive to me, it's also a negative because there isn't a Blu-ray release as well. It could have looked so much better with more vivid colors and less pixilation on a large TV. Will stop there. I honestly don't recommend this season to others unless you just really want to see more of it. If anything, at least the last episode gives us a hot springs scene where we get to see all the girls in the buff. Was as exciting as it got. Season 3 is definitely hinted at, but nothing has been green-lit, yet. Seeing as how this finished airing in Japan almost a year ago, I'm not counting on 3 making it into production. Think I'll go read the light novels and hope for a better story!
