Video transfer
I had a hard time finding this at a local dept store so was happy to locate it in stock at Best Buy. I was transferring camcorder videos from tape to a dvd and needed this type of cord to make the connection. Just what I needed!

Good cable, but not what I needed
The cable looks just fine and will probably do the job it is designed to do very well. But it is not what I wanted and was looking for. I had searched for a six pin DIN cable because I needed the connector to make an adapter which would connect to a six pin connector on an Amateur radio. The six pin connector I need is basically the same as a S-Video connector, except where S-Video connectors typically have four pins I needed six. Searching for more unusual connectors for Amateur radio use is complicated by vendors who are not consistent in properly identifying their products and further by search engines which apply search criteria very broadly. An on-line search found this as a "six-pin," a call to the store also found this as "six-pin" so I purchased it. Even the box showed nothing to prove it was not, until I opened it and checked. Apparently the 6 is found in the "6-foot" description. Go figure. Fortunately Best Buy is great about returns and I returned it within a couple of days.

I needed this cable for my 'obsolete' video player
I still enjoy watching *some* of my 12" Laser Discs on my old Pioneer Laser Disc player, especially because I have a few videos I still enjoy watching that are available ONLY on 12" Laser Disc. My current television set is a 4K-HDTV, which I bought just over a year ago, and it has HDMI inputs only. So I needed to buy an electronic adapting device that would enable me to watch my 12" disc on that set; which I did buy. But this device required an S-Video cable, in order to send the video signal from my Laser Disc player to my 4K set, and I am thankful that Best Buy still had this one, rare, S-Video cable left that was still available for sale. The S-Video cable performed well, and the signal I saw from my Laser Disc player was satisfactory - for a < 525-line video signal that was adapted adequately for 4K-HDTV.
