Long-term review (only 1 critical flaw)

I like this mouse--I really do. And this would be a 5-star rating, if not for 1 MAJOR issue. The issue seems to plague all of these mice (mouses?), given enough use. The middle-click. With my first mouse, the center wheel no longer clicked when depressed after around 2 weeks. I returned it and (eventually) received a replacement. I was perfectly happy with it, but after around 2 months, it, too, failed. I have not yet attempted to obtain additional warranty coverage, but I suspect it an impossibility, as I've long-since thrown out the packaging and receipt, and it is not on file (As an infrequent I've never joined the "rewards" club.) Please note, as a software engineer, I am quite a heavy user of my computer. However, as this is a travel mouse, odds are good that even a light user will have it sloshing around a briefcase or backpack. This is definitely a fault in the design or manufacturing. I've had a Logitech Marathon M705 for 5 years now, which has seen far more and heavier use than these mouses have in their short lifetime, and it has had no problems with the center click. I really do hope that an improved Insignia branded bluetooth mouse is developed and released. It is a very nice device being sold at a very nice price. The ergonomics of it are wonderful, given its size. The back and forward (side) buttons are wonderful, and essential for any mouse I purchase for my work. The multiple-DPI setting is helpful for graphic artists and/or gamers. It connects quickly, and has a surprisingly long range for a low-cost Bluetooth device. I couldn't recommend it enough--if not for the early loss of functionality. If you're willing to make returns and obtain warranty service for this, you can't beat it for the price, or for even for a higher price. Alternatively, if losing center click won't disrupt your workflow, you've got nothing to lose. However, I am a heavy user of it, and it really is unacceptable. I can't give you a "yes" or "no" on whether you should purchase this mouse; however, I hope to have given you all of the data you need to make the determination for yourselves! Feel free to comment with any questions you may have about the device, and I will be more than glad to provide answers! Happy clicking!

The great thing about Bluetooth mice is that they don't require a receiver to take up a USB port. The not-so-great thing is that sometimes connecting can be a bit difficult and the connection might drop out. That is not the case with this mouse. After being disappointed by a couple of more expensive, brand name mice, I saw this and gave it a try. I'm glad I did. It connected easily to my laptop the first time and every time, and stays connected. It fits nicely in my hand, tracks nicely, wheel and buttons are well positioned and work well. This mouse has 2 other small buttons on the side that I don't really use, but they are unobtrusive and don't bother me. Another nice thing is that the buttons are fairly quiet compared to a lot of other mice. I notice this when I'm in a public place, like a library. All in all, a very capable mouse at a very reasonable price.

I really like this mouse. I can't give it 5 stars, only because the pointer moves around a little faster than I want it to, it darts around a little too easily. It is not a terrible problem, but it does require a little more focus to keep the pointer where you want it. It might be that there is a way to change this that I just don't know about. Other than that, the mouse is great and honestly exceeds my expectations. I love the way it feels under my hand. The design is wonderful. Not too heavy, not too light. It does not have the problem many mice have where the buttons press too easily and you always click when you don't want to, simply from the weight of your hand on the mouse. That is very annoying, and it is thankfully not a problem with this mouse. Highly recommend--you could really interpret this as a 5-star review, if you were kind of on the fence about getting it.

    Decent BT Mouse for Travel

This is a fairly basic mouse with low cost and middling construction. The ergonomics are a bit odd at first and always a matter of taste. The BT mouse paired well with a Windows 10 laptop and always connected quickly after the computer was booted. Tracking was good. A limitation compared to most travel-size mice is the wide base/spacing of the plastic pads. The bottom of the mouse is more prone to drag on an uneven (not flat) surface. Use of a single AA battery is a plus, but I have no info on battery life.

I bought this mouse a couple months ago and like most other people who have given it poor ratings I have been having issues with it disconnecting. Low and behold I did a quick search and found out that it was not the mouse that was having the issues but Windows 10 was turning off the connection to conserve power. You need to go to: Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > Bluetooth > Properties and disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in the "Power Management" tab. Once I did this, I have not had any issues with the mouse.

Good Bluetooth mouse, especially for smaller hands

As far as operating as a mouse, the Bluetooth connection performs flawlessly. However, ergonomically speaking, there are some issues. Specifically, if you have hands that are maybe average or above, and they don't have to be close to large, just larger, it is a bit cumbersome. The palm of my hand and finger buttons just don't align well. I can adjust my hand position for one but not the other at the same time while moving. I could imagine if my hand was smaller, it would be perfect. No such luck for me! Recommendations would be for individuals with petite sized hands.

    Bluetooth Lag & Cheap Feel

Just not good quality, feels like cheap plastic and doesn't feel good in your hand. I was looking to replace my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000, but this is just not a good mouse. I wanted to like it and thought the shape would be nice (plus having a back button for a small mouse), but again it's just not a very good mouse. One thing I experienced on all 3 devices (desktop, laptop and tablet) was the Bluetooth lagging terribly; the cursor would not move smoothly. Thought it was the batteries, but new ones did nothing to change that.

Good mouse for the money. Still no logitech

I purchased this mouse to save a little cash over a logitech with the same features. For $20 it is hard to beat this little guy. It is compact and not quite full sized. I have three small complaints. The weight is very light, which might be good for traveling, but is not great for weight in the hand and smooth feel. The scroll wheel is a little too "notchy", and the on/off button on the bottom is difficult to switch. Still for $20 it is fair price and it connects quickly to my MacBook.
