    Great Compact Keyboard

Replaced old bulky KB with this compact one. Easy to connect to PC. Glad to get this KB.

Flexible (in more than one way!)

For <$40, this works pretty good! ***Build Quality:*** As I type this from my new keyboard from Insignia, the design of the keys is one of clear feel: the lettering sticks out. The keys are more textured than most other keyboards and the shape is slightly concave - possibly a little too slight for some. Build quality is reasonable (if not “fitting”), considering the price. The scissor-style keys result in a little wobble when “hovering” over them, and the thin-ness of the materials causes flex when using from a lap. Firm presses seem to reveal under-key flex as well. ***Comfort:*** The keys press a little more firmly than I’m comfortable with. The “bezel” is super small and bends down away from the palm. This caused a few typing errors (accidentally pressing (Ctrl) while using it on my lap, but I had no such issue on my desk. As I’m primarily going to use this for the couch PC, I will be accidentally pressing that a lot. The firmness required to press the keys did result in a few missed strokes, but I’m confident some will like that you must be intentional. Others may never get used to it and relegate this to “sometimes” or “spare PC” keyboard duties. ***Connectivity:*** It’s Bluetooth 5.0 and 3.0 compatible, so you’re set even with an older device. Pairing was quick from my PC, and quick enough from my S23 Ultra. ***Layout:*** The layout of the navigation keys is interesting; I like where “End” is placed - immediately next to the arrow keys, though the compactness of the keys does leave me accidentally pressing it instead of the arrows. “Home” isn’t close to “End”, for some reason - instead “Page Up” and “Page Down” are in between. YOU CAN, however, swap the key caps and do some custom mapping: the square keys detach by pulling from the bottom. The slim rectangular keys at the top detach by pulling from a right-hand corner (either top or bottom). Once you have the keys where you like, just install something like PowerToys to customize your mappings. I ended up placing “Home” next to “End” and “Delete” next to “Print Screen” - both above “Backspace”, as is familiar for me to find because of my laptop’s keyboard. ***Performance:*** Speaking of a laptop, the size is like a 15”. This may cause errors for those used to a typical (larger) desktop keyboard. Unfortunately, like many laptop keyboards, this defaults to the F keys being media buttons instead of regular functions, and there’s no lock to toggle back to standard (F4 actually equals F4) behavior. Unlike most laptop keyboards, you don’t get a backlight. The numpad is good; fingers find their correct spots quickly - AND NumLock stays on even after a restart. Excellent. The little indicator light goes off after a few seconds of inactivity, but comes on and stays on during typing. This could be seen as waste of batteries/minorly annoying. You won’t likely notice unless typing in the dark - in which case, you’re a wizard, Harry, and aren’t looking at the keyboard anyway. The included AAA’s can be swapped to rechargeables when the batteries go dead. ***Conclusion:*** The keys don’t light up and the finish is basic, but the price is right. The weight is right for the material choice, but that choice means it’s fairly flexy. I could easily customize the layout and NUMLOCK STAYS ON - so I give it 5 stars. I certainly can recommend it - especially to those who are going to use it from a desk (like a normal human).

    Fine keyboard for the price

I'm using this keyboard with my MacBook Pro. I wish it had Mac key labeling in addition to the standard Windows keys. Of course I knew from the pictures that it didn't before i bought it, so I'm not taking off a star for that. The keyboard is a decent size, and the Bluetooth function works perfectly. I haven't had it disconnect during use at all. The keys have a sponginess that i don't like so much, but they work fine. Another issue is the delay. When the keyboard hasn't been used for a little bit, it goes into a standby mode until a key is pressed. Then there is a delay of a couple seconds before the key press is registered on the computer. It's an annoyance, but for the price, it's fine.
