Answer landline calls from your RJ9 compatible phone hands-free with this Insignia Landline Hands-Free Headset with RJ-9 Connection. It has a mute switch and volume control for convenient adjusting as you talk and listen, and its noise reducing microphone delivers clear call quality. Place the ear pad on either side of your head - this headset is fully reversible and works on either ear. This Insignia headset also has a foam ear pad for added comfort and is compatible with most office or home office phones with the RJ9 port.
A: I have a basic At&t landline and it works great with that.
A: This headset does not have answering capabilities. It needs to be plugged into a port similar to that of your current handset however this needs to be a separate location in addition to keeping your handset plugged in ... there is no way to answer an incoming call from this product.
A: The microphone is reversible.
Q: Can I use this headset on laptop computer to run a Zoom meeting?
A: No, this one is meant for a telephone line.
Q: Does this work with a NEC phone model DSX?
A: This headset works for phones with RJ-9 connector.
A: Yes, if your phone only has 1 jack for the handset, then you have to replace your handset with this. You can buy a splitter that turns the 1 jack into 2 jacks and then you'd have both plugged in at the same time, but when you answer the phone both the handset and headset would be active unless the splitter has a switch on it that would only make 1 jack active at a time. If both the handset and headset are active together, the sound quality would suffer. So my suggestion would be to look for a splitter with a switch or unplug the headset when you're done using it and plug the handset back in. There are also phones with 2 jacks on them, but buying one would probably be the most expensive solution. I found a splitter in BestBuy but it doesn't have a switch. You'd have to look elsewhere if you want to use that solution. I wasn't able to find a phone in BestBuy with 2 headset jacks (at least not as an advertised feature), so you'd have to look elsewhere if you want to use that solution.
Q: Is this product compatible with a Cisco IP Phone 7962 & 7975?
A: Any phone with a headset jack of type RJ-11 will work with this headset. Be aware that lot 17K28A (lot sticker is located over upc) is defective and has a short between in/out wires.
Q: Why can I not get the headset to work without high pitched screeching?
A: I have gone through 6 of these, and discovered that lot 17K28A (lot sticker located over upc) is defective. The in/out wires are shorted against each other.
